Because at Arclin, our people are truly Vital Beyond Measure.\nAbout the role\nArclin is seeking talent for a Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician at our St Clair (Cleveland), OH location. Reporting into theMaintenance Manager, this role is responsible for supporting plant operations by maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure used in rubber processing and production. This role plays a key part in ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of extruders, mixers, presses, and other rubber manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a proactive attitude toward preventive maintenance and safety.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPerform preventive maintenance on rubber manufacturing equipment, including extruders, mills, mixers, calenders, and curing presses.\nTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in production equipment.\nRespond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize production delays.\nAssist with equipment changeovers, installations, and upgrades.\nMonitor and maintain utilities supporting rubber processes (air, water, steam, etc.).\nMaintain detailed maintenance logs and records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).\nFollow plant safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO).\nSupport root cause analysis for recurring maintenance issues.\nMaintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and parts inventory.\nCollaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with process specifications.\nAdhere to quality and safety standards specific to the rubber manufacturing environment (e.g., temperature and pressure control, cleanliness, material handling).\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED required; technical school certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology preferred.\n2-5 years of maintenance experience in a rubber or similar manufacturing environment.\nExperience working with rubber processing equipment (extruders, batch mixers, Banbury mixers, etc.) strongly preferred.\nSolid mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.\nFamiliarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control systems is a plus.\nSkilled in the use of hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication is a bonus.\nBasic computer skills and experience with CMMS software preferred.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.\nMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, noisy, and occasionally confined environments.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nFast-paced rubber manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial chemicals.
