Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this entry-level, full-time position is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to manufacturing and processing impregnated surfaces. The Operator is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPerform various tasks and monitor machine centerlines to keep the paper machine running to reduce downtime and scrap.\nOperate a sit-down forklift to transfer finished paper products in pallet or roll form.\nPackage finished products to protect for transit, print product labels, and transfer to the warehouse.\nCollaborate with other departments to meet production and shipping schedules.\nRun off-line converter machine to fill orders for specific customers.\nParticipate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements.\nFollow all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment.\nVisually monitor processes within their area of accountability and immediately inform the Lead Operator of any deviations or abnormalities.\nWork in close coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processes.\nCommunicate and confer with the Lead Operator, as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel, to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.\nFollow machine centerlines at various sections of the paper machine. New ideas for process improvements will have the audience of the engineering and maintenance team. In some cases, will be rewarded with monetary reward.\nPerform troubleshooting in the event of process deviations.\nTo Be Successful, You Will Need:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nForklift experience is a plus but must be able to become certified.\nCapable of driving a Tractor/Tanker unit or being able to learn.\nAnalytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role.\nPrevious chemical/processing experience is a plus.\nMust be okay with rotating shifts (days/nights/evenings rotating every week).\nMust be okay with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).\nAbility to sit, stand, walk, and climb frequently working in elevated areas.\nBasic computer skills required.\nProgrammable Logic Control (PLC) Systems experience is a plus.\nBasic math skills required, including the use of a calculator.\nAbility to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to, potentially lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.\nWhat We Offer:\nArclin’s employee benefits program offers competitive financial, medical, and personal services.
