We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on laboratory role, you will perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and customer requirements.\nWorking closely with Production, Operations, and Research & Development, you'll play a critical role in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping deliver exceptional products to our customers.\nWhat You'll Do\nProduct Testing & Quality Analysis\nPerform laboratory testing on production samples using established quality procedures and test methods.\nAnalyze products including coatings, powders, and specialty chemical formulations for:\nSolids content\npH\nConductivity\nViscosity\nSpecific gravity\nMoisture content (Karl Fischer Titration)\nParticle size (sieve analysis)\nSpectrophotometer/color analysis\nTemperature stability\nConduct chemical testing including sodium hypochlorite dilution (ppm) and caustic concentration (%).\nEvaluate test results and communicate any out-of-specification conditions to Production and Quality leadership.\nRaw Material Inspection\nInspect and test incoming raw materials to verify they meet quality specifications before production.\nTest materials including:\nBulk tanker deliveries\nCaustic\nFatty acids\nBulk powders and micro prills\nCalcium stearate\nTalc\nUrea\nMaintain raw material Certificates of Analysis (COA) database.\nLaboratory Equipment & Calibration\nMaintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including:\npH meters\nViscometers\nSolids analyzers\nConductivity meters\nSpecific gravity equipment\nKarl Fischer analyzers\nScales\nThermometers\nMaintain calibration records to support ISO and quality system compliance.\nLaboratory Operations\nFollow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and established safety procedures.\nMaintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.\nManage laboratory inventory and retain sample storage.\nEnter testing data into company quality systems and databases.\nGenerate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for customer shipments.\nSupport investigations of quality concerns and assist with corrective actions.\nPrepare specialty products and perform product dilutions as needed.\nMonitor product viscosity trends and quality metrics.\nAssist Research & Development with product scale-up activities and method development.\nTrain and orient new laboratory personnel on laboratory procedures and quality standards.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality Control laboratory or chemical manufacturing environment.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to accurately perform laboratory testing and document results.\nAbility to interpret specifications, procedures, and test methods.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nProficiency with computer systems and data entry.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Biology, or another scientific discipline.\nExperience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.\nExperience with laboratory instrumentation calibration and maintenance.\nKnowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and quality systems.\nWhat Makes You Successful\nYou enjoy solving problems through data and analysis.\nYou take pride in producing accurate, reliable work.\nYou communicate effectively with production and technical teams.\nYou thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nYou have a continuous improvement mindset and are committed to safety and quality.\nWork Environment\nThis position is based in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
