Our compensation and benefits package not only supports our associates and their families but benefits local communities and communities around the world.\nIndustry-leading performance-based bonus program\nTraditional and Roth 401(k) options\nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage\nPaid vacation and holidays\nTuition reimbursement and continuing education opportunities\nOpportunities for professional development and career advancement\nCollaborative, entrepreneurial work environment with opportunities to work on large-scale, technically complex construction projects\nBenefits should be confirmed against the applicable ARCO division’s current package before publication.\nA DAY IN THE LIFE\nOversee and coordinate the design, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and associated control systems on mission-critical data center projects.\nCollaborate with design engineers, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure building automation systems meet project specifications, owner requirements, and operational expectations.\nManage and coordinate controls contractors, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and commissioning teams throughout construction, startup, and project turnover.\nReview BMS and controls design documents, equipment submittals, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, control sequences, and network architecture for compliance with project requirements.\nSupport the commissioning and functional performance testing of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air-handling equipment, pumps, and other critical mechanical infrastructure.\nCoordinate the integration of BMS with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, and other facility monitoring systems as required.\nVerify control sequences, point-to-point testing, alarm functionality, trending, system graphics, and communication protocols to support reliable building operations.\nTroubleshoot control system integration issues, communication failures, programming deficiencies, and equipment performance concerns alongside subcontractors and commissioning teams.\nWork with industry-standard building automation platforms and communication protocols, including Tridium Niagara, BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU, PLCs, and related control technologies.\nAssist with development and review of commissioning plans, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and equipment startup documentation.\nMonitor controls-related construction schedules, identify potential project risks, and proactively coordinate solutions to maintain project milestones.\nSupport factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), integrated systems testing (IST), and final owner demonstrations as applicable.\nEnsure compliance with project-specific safety requirements, quality standards, applicable codes, and client operational requirements.\nCoordinate final system documentation, deficiency resolution, training, and turnover to the owner and facility operations teams.\nMost importantly, find a way to make the construction process FUN for our clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing quality or safety.\nNECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent military, trade, or relevant industry experience will be considered.\n5+ years of experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), building automation, HVAC controls, electrical controls, or mission-critical facility systems.\nExperience supporting the construction, installation, commissioning, or operation of data centers, critical infrastructure, or other technically complex commercial/industrial facilities strongly preferred.\nWorking knowledge of BMS/DDC platforms such as Tridium Niagara 4, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or comparable building automation systems.\nKnowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP networks, and controls system integration.\nAbility to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, controls schematics, network diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation.\nUnderstanding of mission-critical mechanical cooling systems, HVAC equipment, control sequences, and system redundancy.\nExperience coordinating contractors, vendors, engineers, and commissioning professionals in an active construction environment.\nFamiliarity with commissioning processes, functional performance testing, troubleshooting, and integrated systems testing.\nStrong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional project teams.\nKnowledge of OSHA safety practices and experience working in active construction environments.\nAbility to travel to project sites as required.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nPrevious experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center construction projects.\nTridium Niagara N4 certification or comparable manufacturer-specific BMS certification.\nExperience coordinating integration between BMS, EPMS, and DCIM systems.\nExperience with factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and integrated systems testing.\nFamiliarity with ASHRAE standards, mission-critical facility design, and data center cooling infrastructure.\nPrevious experience working for a general contractor, controls contractor, commissioning firm, or mission-critical engineering organization.\nMAKE YOUR MOVE\nWe are proud to be one of the fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in America, celebrating over 30 years of experience as design-build experts.
