This role serves as the strategic bridge between business objectives, enterprise applications, infrastructure platforms, cloud services, cybersecurity, and operational technology (OT) systems. The Enterprise Architect develops and maintains a holistic view of how technology capabilities support the organization's operations, manufacturing processes, customer experience, and long-term business strategy.\nThe position is accountable for creating and maintaining enterprise architecture standards, technology roadmaps, reference architectures, system dependency maps, and integration strategies across the organization. This individual partners closely with business leaders, IT teams, plant operations, engineering, and third-party vendors to ensure technology investments are aligned, scalable, secure, and support the evolving needs of the business.\n In this role, you will:\nDevelop and maintain the organization's enterprise architecture framework, standards, principles, and governance processes.\n\nCreate and maintain current-state and future-state architecture models covering infrastructure, applications, integrations, data flows, cloud services, and manufacturing systems.\n\nEstablish technology standards that drive consistency, scalability, resiliency, and security across the enterprise.\n\nEvaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations regarding adoption, modernization, and retirement strategies. Help simplify, consolidate, and standardize platforms, and manage technology lifecycles.\n\nDefine enterprise architecture and multi-year technology roadmaps for Infrastructure (networking, security, compute, storage, backup/DR), and Hybrid Cloud/on-premises environments (including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Power Platform), including adoption, workload placement, governance, and AI-enabled modernization.\n\nSet standards and integration strategies across Enterprise Applications, including ERP, CRM, CPQ, HCM, eCommerce, and analytics, and document dependencies and data flows.\n\nEnable secure IT/OT convergence by connecting business systems with MES, SCADA, PLC, and historian systems.\n\nPartner with cybersecurity to meet compliance requirements, identify risks and unsupported platforms, and build in resiliency and continuity.\n\nLead architecture review boards and provide architectural oversight for major technology initiatives and projects. Provide architectural input on M&A, facility expansions, and operational initiatives.\n\nAct as a trusted advisor, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and mentor staff on architecture best practices. Advise Kawneer Leadership Team on technology opportunities and risks.\n\nAlso note:\nThe ideal candidate possesses broad technical expertise spanning enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, business applications, manufacturing systems, and integration architecture.\n\nExperience in manufacturing environments and familiarity with IT/OT convergence principles is highly desirable.\n\nKnowledge of Industrial IoT, MES platforms, and Ignition systems is strongly preferred.\n\nComprehensive documentation of current-state enterprise architecture and system dependencies.\n\nDevelopment and execution of technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.\n\nReduced technology complexity and improved system integration across the enterprise.\n\nImproved visibility into application, infrastructure, and OT interdependencies.\n\nSuccessful architectural guidance for system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.\n\nIncreased technology resiliency, cybersecurity posture, and operational efficiency.\n\nStrong alignment between business strategy, IT investments, and manufacturing operations.\n\n You have:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.\n\nMinimum 8 years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years focused on enterprise architecture, solution architecture, infrastructure architecture, or related disciplines.\n\nExperience designing and supporting complex enterprise environments across infrastructure, cloud, and business applications.\n\nStrong understanding of networking, server platforms, storage systems, virtualization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, identity management, and disaster recovery.\n\nExperience with enterprise integration concepts, APIs, middleware platforms, and data architecture.\n\nDemonstrated experience documenting enterprise environments, system relationships, integration points, and technology roadmaps.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.\n\nExperience working with business stakeholders to align technology capabilities with strategic objectives.\n\nEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
