If you want to build and deploy ground-up technology with real-world impact, at an inflection point in history that won’t reappear, we’d like to talk.\nTHE ROLE\nWe’re looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to design, build, and test all electrical systems within ARD’s product stack. You’ll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world deployment making an impact at every layer - from the PCB to Arctic field tests. You’ll move fast and take end-to-end ownership in the electronic architecture you’ll build, ensuring seamless operation in the harshest climate on Earth.\n* Please note: this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship *\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nArchitect, build, and iterate embedded systems from first principles - including MCUs, PCBs, physical comms modules, and ARD’s custom subsystems\n\nOwn electrical integration across ARD’s full stack, optimising for SWaP-C at every iteration\n\nServe as the go-to technical lead across electrical, RF, systems, and mechanical interfaces\n\nWork tightly with deployment, software, and systems teams to ship field-ready hardware\n\nGet hands-on in field - travel to Arctic test sites and client installations\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n7+ years of hands-on experience building electronics for real-world systems - ideally with exposure to battery-powered platforms, RF comms (MANET, LoRa), and pLEO/GEO satellite systems\n\nProven track record designing and debugging high-density, high-reliability PCBs for harsh environments\n\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a portfolio ready to demonstrate\n\nSkilled in RF testing and analysis (Spectrum analyser, Network Analyser, etc) and RF simulation tool suites\n\nConfident soldering, PCB design, prototyping, and field-testing under pressure\n\nTrack record of delivering systems from sketch to deployment - managing time, cost, and complexity\n\nField-ready mindset - you're comfortable testing gear in sub-zero environments\n\nFuture Security Clearance Requirements\nAs our business scales into the defence and security sectors, the responsibilities of this role are expected to evolve to include projects requiring UK Security Check (SC) clearance.\nWhile an active clearance is not required to apply or start in this role, candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo UK Government security vetting in the future should project requirements dictate it.\nTo meet the standard eligibility criteria for UK standard SC vetting, you must typically have resided in the UK for the past 5 continuous years, hold a valid passport, and be capable of passing comprehensive background, financial, and criminal record checks.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nCompetitive compensation\n\nPrivate Health Insurance from Day 1\n\nDental & Vision\n\nEquity - meaningful options as an early employee at an early-stage company\n\nReal field exposure - travel to Arctic sites and Outposts when needed\n\nMission-driven culture - focus on impact, not hours logged\n\nARD is an equal opportunities employer.
