We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Security Engineering to be part of making that happen.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Senior Manager, Security Engineering is responsible for the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of one or more Security Engineering functions. This leader develops organizational capabilities that enable Arctic Wolf to scale securely while supporting business growth, platform innovation, and operational efficiency.\nThe role provides leadership across multiple security engineering domains such as Identity and Access Management, Security Systems Engineering, Cloud Security, Application Security, Platform Security, or other related functions. The Senior Manager establishes long-term technical direction, develops leaders and engineers, and partners closely with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, IT, Architecture, and Risk stakeholders to deliver enterprise security outcomes.\nThe successful candidate combines strong technical credibility with organizational leadership, using engineering-driven solutions to reduce risk, improve operational effectiveness, and enable business objectives.\nThe Senior Manager is accountable for organizational outcomes rather than individual project execution. Success is measured through team performance, operational maturity, strategic roadmap delivery, talent development, risk reduction, stakeholder satisfaction, and the long-term scalability of the security engineering function. The role influences technology decisions and security investments across multiple business and engineering organizations.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nOrganizational Leadership\nProvide Organizational Leadership: Lead one or more Security Engineering teams through managers, team leads, and individual contributors. Establish vision, priorities, operating rhythms, and accountability mechanisms.\n\nBuild and Develop Leaders: Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing managers and engineers. Create succession plans and establish clear career growth opportunities across the organization.\n\nStrategy & Planning\nDevelop Security Engineering Strategy: Define and execute multi-year roadmaps aligned to enterprise security objectives, business priorities, technology strategy, and regulatory requirements.\n\nFinancial Stewardship: Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, vendor management, and investment prioritization activities.\n\nSecurity Platforms & Technology\nDrive Security Platform Evolution: Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise security platforms supporting identity, cloud, application, endpoint, data protection, and security operations capabilities.\n\nTechnical Governance and Architecture: Provide strategic oversight for system architecture, platform integrations, security design standards, and engineering best practices.\n\nEngineering-Driven Security: Champion automation and platform-based security controls that reduce manual effort and improve security outcomes at scale.\n\nVendor and Technology Strategy: Evaluate emerging technologies, manage strategic vendor relationships, and guide build-versus-buy decisions.\n\nProgram Delivery & Operations\nLead Large-Scale Initiatives: Direct complex cross-functional programs involving multiple engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.\n\nOperational Excellence: Establish service ownership practices, reliability objectives, KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and continuous improvement programs.\n\nRisk Management and Compliance Enablement: Ensure technical controls effectively support regulatory, customer, and internal security requirements.\n\nStakeholder & Executive Engagement\nExecutive Partnership: Communicate strategy, risk, progress, and investment needs to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.\n\nABOUT YOU\nKey Skills\nExperience leading multiple engineering teams and developing managers.\n\nStrong security engineering and platform architecture background.\n\nAbility to influence technical strategy across large, complex organizations.\n\nExperience driving organizational transformation and operational maturity.\n\nStrong understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern security platforms.\n\nAbility to prioritize competing business and security objectives.\n\nExperience managing large-scale vendor relationships and technology portfolios.\n\nStrong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nExperience building metrics-driven engineering organizations.\n\nProven ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational change.\n\nKey Competencies\nStrategic Leadership\n\nOrganizational Development\n\nTechnical Vision and Architecture\n\nBusiness Alignment\n\nRisk-Based Decision Making\n\nExecutive Communication\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nTalent Management and Succession Planning\n\nCross-Functional Influence\n\nChange Leadership\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\n\nDemonstrated experience designing, building, and operating production systems at scale\n\nPrior experience in Security Engineering or closely related engineering disciplines\n\nProven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical initiatives\n\nStrong experience with coding, system integration, and automation\n\nExperience evaluating and implementing enterprise security technologies\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading Identity, Cloud Security, Application Security, Platform Security, or Security Systems Engineering organizations.\n\nExperience supporting rapidly growing SaaS or cloud-native technology companies.\n\nExperience managing globally distributed engineering teams.\n\nDeep understanding of modern security frameworks including NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and Zero Trust architectures.\n\nExperience managing security platform budgets and vendor portfolios.\n\nAdvanced security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent).\n\nExperience building security capabilities that support AI, data governance, and cloud transformation initiatives.\n\nOn-Camera Policy\nTo support a fair, transparent, and engaging interview experience, candidates interviewing remotely are expected to be on camera during all video interviews.
