We’re looking for a Team Lead to be part of making this happen.\nPosition Overview and Objective\n\nResponsible for guiding a software development team to deliver high-value, performant, and secure software solutions. This role ensures that day-to-day development activities align with the R&D Department goals and processes.\nThe Team Lead provides direction, coaching, and technical oversight for developers through the design, implementation, and automated/integration testing of software. They work closely with the Project Lead (who owns project planning, status reporting, estimation, and delivery) to ensure work is executed effectively. The Team Lead focuses on people leadership, roadmap execution, and team performance, but may support the architecture and development if needed.\nResponsibilities:\n As a Team Lead at Arctic Wolf, you will:\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.\nProvide day-to-day technical guidance and remove obstacles impacting delivery.\nConduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions.\nFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.\nDrive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and team effectiveness.\nBuild strong partnerships with Product Management, Architecture, Support, and other cross-functional stakeholders.\nEnsure adherence to software development standards, security policies, and engineering best practices.\nTechnical Leadership & Software Delivery\nGuide the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions.\nCollaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver roadmap commitments.\nProvide technical oversight on architecture, implementation, code quality, and troubleshooting activities.\nPromote secure coding practices, automated testing, and engineering excellence.\nEnsure solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements.\nSupport software development activities as needed through hands-on technical contributions.\nPeople Management & Operations\nSupport team planning, capacity management, and resource allocation.\nApprove vacation requests, expenses, and training budgets.\nPartner with Engineering Leadership and HR on performance management and compensation planning.\nParticipate in hiring activities, including candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.\nSupport onboarding and development of new team members.\nExperience & Requirements \n7+ years of experience in software development or a related technical role.\nExperience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to engineering teams.\nStrong background in designing, developing, and delivering software applications.\nExperience working in Agile development environments.\nProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\nExperience driving engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nStrong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile practices.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nKnowledge of secure coding standards, software security principles, and quality engineering practices.\nAbility to coach, mentor, and develop team members in a collaborative environment.\nCommitment to continuous learning and professional growth.\nOn-Camera Policy\nTo support a fair, transparent, and engaging interview experience, candidates interviewing remotely are expected to be on camera during all video interviews.
