Field Chemists travel to customer sites to sort, pack, and remove hazardous chemicals from the site.\nPrioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times\nSegregates chemicals by hazard class and packs compatible materials in appropriate containers and prepares for transportation; completes necessary paperwork for each job \nDetermines and loads supplies needed for job completion and travels to various industry, laboratory, and educational sites to perform lab pack services\nCharacterizes materials at field project sites \nAdheres to proper placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials \nDevelops good customer relations by effectively communicating with site points of contact and others at customer location / site to provide progress updates and address questions\nAppropriately directs Field Technicians / Drivers who are assisting with waste collection \nCompletes proposal preparation at an introductory level \nProficiently manages and assesses high-hazard materials and cylinder handling \nPrints/completes relevant documentation (manifest, land disposal restrictions, labels, billing documents, etc.) and reviews waste streams utilizing the HP system \nAssists in the training of Field Chemist I and II positions \nMaintains the ability to travel to support outside locations as needed\nTakes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization\nEducation\n- Associates degree (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred)Experience\nIn lieu of degree 2+ years of related experience (required) and 2+ years of previous experience in lab packing or environmental waste (required) \nValid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date (required) \nAbility to pass a Motor Vehicle Record search to Company standards (required)*Due to the potential exposure to atmospheres/waste/materials this position requires individuals to be clean shaven at all times in order to don a respirator for protection.\nOverview\nAbout Arcwood\nEvery advancement-from the products we use to the medicines and technologies we depend on-creates waste that must be handled responsibly.
