This role ensures the shift is engaged in the manufacturing of glass containers to ensure customer requirements are met.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablish and maintain a proactive safety environment which includes: good housekeeping, constant awareness of injury risks, and always striving for zero accidents\n\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, with other departments, and with the employees; further, establish and develop labor relations utilizing sound management principles\n\nMaintain timely and accurate records such as attendance, production, quality, training, and discipline\n\nMonitor production efficiencies and quality regularly during the shift and provide corrective action plans with employees while maintaining accurate communications with appropriate departments\n\nComply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities\n\nMinimum skills / qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n\nFive (5) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process\n\nPrior experience with mold repair, machine repair, and job changes\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nProficient organizational, analytical, and planning skills\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite\n\nAbility to work in a heavy industrial, high-risk work environment\n\nAbility to work outside of regular work hours\n\nAbility to prioritize work and have a sense of urgency\n\nAbility to travel up to 5%\n\nPreferred skills / qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline\n\nEight (8) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process\n\nOne (1) year of supervisory experience\n\nPrior experience working within a unionized work environment\n\nPrior experience with the plant's forming process (i.e. press, blow-and-blow, etc.)\n\nBenefits Offered:\nMedical, prescription, dental and vision plans \nFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA) \nLife insurance \n401(k) retirement plan with company match\nPaid holidays and vacation \nShort- and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) \nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) \nApprenticeship programs\nProfessional and personal development opportunities through Employee Resource Groups\nPlease note the compensation and benefits information above is accurate as of the date of this posting.
