This role oversees projects from concept through construction, performing mechanical calculations, equipment selection, system layouts, and the design of hydronic piping, ductwork, and mechanical equipment. The engineer will coordinate with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams while managing project schedules, deliverables, and construction documentation to ensure quality and accuracy. Additionally, this position provides technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and designers, conducting site visits as needed, supporting proposal development, and contributing to the continued growth of the mechanical engineering practice. The position will offer various opportunities for advancement based on performance, technical abilities, and interests.\nPrimary Duties:\nSupport the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for K-12, higher education, healthcare, municipal, and industrial projects\n\nPerform and review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts\nOversee hydronic (chilled and hot water) piping design, ductwork, and mechanical equipment sizing\nDevelop and manage project schedules, deliverables, and client expectations\nEnsure quality and accuracy of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations\nCoordinate with cross-discipline teams, architects, and clients\nMentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical oversight and career development support\nPerform site visits and field surveys when required\nAssist in proposal development and contribute to department growth initiatives\nOversee projects from concept through construction\n\nProvide high-quality engineering reports, presentations, and other written & verbal communication to clients\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline required\n7+ years of experience in design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems\n\nPE license required\nAbility to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence/reports/specifications\nProvides effort and takes pride in all work assignments produced\nNot afraid to ask for guidance/assistance in order to expedite the date of assignment deliverables\nAbility to simultaneously work on group and individual assignments\nMust have effective communication, management and writing skills\nMust be skilled in the use of Word/Excel products\n\nExperience with Revit preferred but not required\n\nSalary Range: $92,000.00 To $151,800.00 Annually\nBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off\nWhy Ardurra?\nWhile Ardurra offers competitive compensation and rich benefits programs, it is our culture that truly sets us apart from our peers.
