Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills are essential.\nPRIMARY DUTIES:\nServe as client representative and attend evening meetings\nDraft development review letters pertaining to various municipal development applications. \nPrepare, amend, and update municipal comprehensive plans, master plans and reexamination reports \nReview, evaluate and recommend zoning amendments and rezoning's\nPrepare, amend, and update Housing Element and Fair Share Plans\nPrepare redevelopment investigations and plans \nDraft a variety of ordinances and regulations relating to development controls\nVarious research tasks as may be requested by municipal clients\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:\nWell-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices\nWorking knowledge of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law. Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code a plus\nUnderstanding of the NJ regulations including MLUL, LRHL, COAH\nKnowledge of economic development, transportation planning, or environmental planning a plus\nStrong writing, communication, and copy editing skills\nKnowledge of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowing ArcPRO, SketchUP, and Adobe Creative Cloud a plus\nAbility to critically analyze ordinances and codes and draft revisions\nAbility to identify community problems, issues, and opportunities\nGroup facilitation and public engagement skills\nAbility to multitask and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget. \nComfort level with presenting to various stakeholder groups.\nAbility to complete tasks independently\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSES REQUIREMENTS:\nMust have 10+ years of planning experience, AICP certification required.\nIn pursuit of PP certification\nCompetencies:\nClient Focus\nDeveloping Others\nFostering Communication & Collaboration\nLeading Others\nManagerial Courage\nWorking Environment/Physical Requirements:\nWork is generally performed in an office or administrative setting but may include periodic field work. The role requires minimal to moderate physical activity, such as occasional standing, walking, or lifting items up to 20 pounds, while most tasks remain focused on work at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.\nCompensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 annually.
