The ideal candidate will have strong roadway design experience and a proven background delivering highway and/orlocal roadway projects from planning through construction. This role focuses on transportation design, roadway improvements, corridor projects, and multidisciplinary coordination.\nResponsibilities\nLead and support roadway and transportation design projects including highways, arterials, collectors, intersections, and local roadways\nPrepare and review Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E)\nDevelop roadway geometry including alignments, profiles, cross sections, grading plans, and corridor models\nCoordinate roadway drainage integration and utility considerations\nDevelop construction documents and 3D roadway models using transportation design software\nCoordinate with traffic, drainage, utility, geotechnical, environmental, and structural teams\nEnsure compliance with AASHTO, MUTCD, state DOT, and local agency standards\nMay perform QA/QC reviews of plans, calculations, and technical deliverables\nMay support project delivery, scheduling efforts, and client coordination\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff\nSupport construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering\nActive Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State required\nMinimum 5+ years of transportation engineering experience\nExperience with roadway, highway, and transportation infrastructure projects for DOT, municipal, and public agency clients\nProficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D \nExperience with roadway design including plan and profiles, cross sections, corridor modeling, and grading\nStrong understanding of AASHTO, MUTCD, and applicable state DOT standards\nStrong communication and organizational skills\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading transportation design efforts and federally funded projects\nFamiliarity with MicroStation, Bluebeam, Synchro, , and Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD)\nExperience with roadway drainage, utility coordination, and right of way considerations\nDesign experience for WSDOT facilities\nKnowledge and understanding of ADA compliance and PROWAG requirements\nCompensation and Benefits:\nCompensation is based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is$115,000 to $175,000.
