Join us in shaping the future\nof our products and services through cutting-edge technology!\nHOW AN INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:\n- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and\ncontrols in alignment with USPS’s security requirements and federal\nstandards (e.g., FISMA, NIST RMF).\n- Utilize AI tools like GitHub Copilot to automate security tasks,\nvulnerability scans, and code reviews.\n- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and\npenetration testing using tools such as Nessus, Splunk, and\nSonarQube.\n- Implement and monitor security measures for sensitive data, ensuring\ncompliance with encryption standards and access controls.\n- Work with development and operations teams to integrate security\npractices within CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.\n- Prepare and maintain security documentation, including System\nSecurity Plans (SSP), Risk Mitigation Plans (RMP), and Plan of\nAction and Milestones (POA&M).\n- Ensure continuous monitoring and real-time security incident\nresponse using tools such as CloudWatch, GuardDuty, and AWS Security\nHub.\n- Collaborate with the USPS Chief Information Security Office (CISO)\nto ensure compliance with USPS’s security architecture and\ngovernance.\n- Provide security training and awareness programs to development and\noperational staff.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nEducation:\n- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber\nSecurity, or related fields, preferred but not required.\n- If there is no relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of\nrelevant work experience is required.\nRequired Experience:\n- 5+ years of experience in information security engineering, with a\nstrong focus on cloud security.\n- Experience with AI tools, particularly GitHub Copilot, for security\nautomation and vulnerability management.\n- Strong understanding of federal security standards and compliance\nrequirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP).\nRequired skills:\n- Proficiency in security tools and frameworks (e.g., Nessus, Splunk,\nNIST RMF).\n- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n- Able to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.\n- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts,\nand stakeholders.\nDesired Skills:\n- Security Certifications (e.g.,
