The position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, enhancing, securing, and modernizing a mission-supporting enterprise application currently built on Adobe ColdFusion 2018/2023 and hosted within the FAA AWS cloud environment.\nThis is a hands-on senior engineering position. The developer will analyze an existing enterprise codebase, troubleshoot production issues, develop enhancements, support software and platform upgrades, participate in architecture decisions, integrate applications with external systems, and support cybersecurity and ATO requirements.\nThe individual will also participate in the design and development of the future NISC V solution, including requirements analysis, architecture, technology evaluation, development, testing, DevSecOps, deployment, and knowledge transfer.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain and enhance existing Adobe ColdFusion applications. \nAnalyze and become proficient with an established enterprise codebase. \nDiagnose and resolve application defects and production issues. \nDevelop new application functionality based on FAA business requirements. \nPerform application architecture and technical design. \nSupport ColdFusion and related application/platform upgrades. \nSupport applications deployed within AWS environments. \nDevelop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems. \nWork closely with Oracle/SQL developers on database-driven application functionality. \nPerform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing. \nSupport development, test, staging, and production environments. \nParticipate in configuration management, source control, CI/CD, and release-management processes. \nSupport application patching and vulnerability remediation. \nAssist with cybersecurity scans and remediation of application findings. \nSupport DevSecOps and secure-development practices. \nAssist with disaster recovery, archiving, backup, and continuity activities. \nProduce and maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, operating procedures, and release documentation. \nProvide Tier 2 technical support for complex NIMS/CMIS incidents. \nParticipate in the three-month Transition-In and knowledge transfer from the incumbent contractor. \nSupport architecture, technology evaluation, prototyping, and development for the future NISC V system. \nFAA specifically requires application architecture/design, development and bug fixes, enhancements, DR, patching/upgrades, platform administration, cloud management and security vulnerability remediation.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. \n7+ years of professional software development experience. \n5+ years of hands-on Adobe ColdFusion development experience. \nStrong experience maintaining and modifying existing enterprise applications. \nExperience with ColdFusion 2018, ColdFusion 2023, or comparable modern ColdFusion environments. \nExperience deploying or supporting applications in AWS. \nStrong understanding of web application architecture and relational database applications. \nSQL development experience. \nExperience developing and consuming REST APIs and/or other enterprise integrations. \nExperience troubleshooting production application issues. \nExperience with source control and modern software-development practices. \nUnderstanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts. \nExperience performing unit, integration, and regression testing. \nKnowledge of secure coding and vulnerability remediation. \nStrong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capabilities. \nPreferred Qualifications\nFederal Government or FAA application-development experience. \nOracle Database experience. \nExperience with financial or contract-management applications. \nExperience supporting systems operating under an ATO. \nExperience with FusionCharts or similar visualization/reporting technologies. \nAWS certification. \nAdobe ColdFusion certification or significant demonstrated ColdFusion
