This includes validating all payment methods (cash, card, digital wallets), identifying and resolving variances, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role supports operational teams through timely feedback, trend analysis, and compliance with company policies.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITY 1: RETAIL POS RECONCILIATION\nReconcile daily POS transactions from all retail stores.\nValidate all tender types (cash, card, vouchers, digital payments).\nIdentify, investigate, and resolve POS variances.\nCollaborate with store managers to resolve discrepancies.\nMonitor banking and cash-up processes for accuracy.\nPrepare weekly and monthly POS reconciliation reports.\nHighlight recurring issues and propose corrective actions.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITY 2: REPORTING & ANALYSIS\nPrepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation reports.\nAnalyse POS trends and highlight anomalies.\nReport unresolved issues to the Group Accounting Manager.\nMaintain audit-ready documentation and reconciliations.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITY 3: PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & COMPLIANCE\nReview and improve POS reconciliation processes.\nEnsure Ability to prepare accurate reconciliation reports.\no Data Analysis: Skilled in analysing POS data and identifying trends.\no ERP & POS Systems: Familiarity with POS platforms and accounting software.\no Reconciliation Skills: High proficiency in reconciling multi-tender transactions.\no Audit & Compliance: Understanding of audit requirements and financial controls.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nThe minimum education and experience requirements that are required to be considered\nEducation\nCertificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advantageous) \nBasic understanding of accounting principles, including: reconciliations, general ledger postings and allocations and controls\nExperience\nMinimum 2 years’ practical finance experience, with demonstrable exposure to:\nPOS, cash, card, and electronic payment reconciliations\nHigh-volume transactional environments\nHands-on experience in:\nIdentifying, investigating, and resolving reconciliation variances\nPreparing daily, weekly, or monthly reconciliation reports\nExperience working on an accounting system or ERP in a retail or operational finance context\nExperience working collaboratively with store operations or non-finance stakeholders\nIndustry Knowledge\nWorking knowledge of retail point-of-sale environments, including:\nCash-up procedures\nMultiple tender types (cash, card, vouchers, digital wallets)\nUnderstanding of basic financial controls and audit expectations\nAwareness of the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in retail financial reporting\nFamiliarity with retail banking and settlement cycles is required at a practical
