As a Backend Developer you will be responsible for providing expert technical support, maintenance, and enhancement of a client application within an Agile, sprint-based development environment. The ideal candidate leverages strong backend development expertise in Python, AWS, RESTful APIs, databases, and scalable data solutions to ensure application performance, availability, and integration with TypeScript-based front-end components.\nDue to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.\nResponsibilities\nProvide expert technical support to maintain the client application\nProvide support for development, enhancements, accessibility, integration, optimization, and maintenance\nEnsure availability and correct operations\nWork within a sprint-based development cycle\nUtilize knowledge of the AWS cloud environment, Python backend and TypeScript front-end\nRequirements\n5 years of backend development experience \nBachelor’s Degree (3 years of additional experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree)\nExperience using modern software to prototype and deploy backend web applications\nExperience using web programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python) and web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails)\nExperience developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs\nExperience with relational and non-relational database systems\nProficiency with scalable search technology\nCompetence in handling and scaling large data sets and their storage\nExperience using version control systems\nExperience working in a team environment that uses agile methodologies\nExperience authoring developer-friendly documentation \nExperience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience\nTravel Requirements\nThis is a remote position; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training sessions.
