You will collaborate with the rest of the team to develop, integrate and test portable software modules for on-board data handling and advanced processing as part of the Argotec flight software, while aiming at code reusability for future missions.\nSpecific duties include (but are not limited to):\nDesign and develop software for our avionic systems.\nWork throughout the whole software development lifecycle, from requirements definition to test and result reporting.\nConfigure and tailor the Real-time Operating Systems on our on-board computers.\nParticipate in the integration and testing of the flight software on the avionics systems and satellites.\nIdentify and support a core set of tools for performance analysis.\nDesign and develop tools (e.g. scripts, simulators, digital twins, etc.) that help the team in providing high-quality flight software.\nCooperate with other Engineering teams to define the system architecture and integrate software with specific hardware components and constraints.\nSupport the path-to-production for the developed software solutions.\nMaintain software solutions deployed to orbit throughout the whole lifecycle of the satellites, supporting also the flight operations of our missions.\nGENERAL REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.\nAt least 3+ years of experience in embedded software development or relevant roles (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education).\nU.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.\nExcellent written and oral communication in English.\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS\nTeam player and a “Do what it takes” attitude.\nExcellent skills in software design and development with C and C++.\nGood familiarity with real-time operating systems and software design techniques in multi-threading applications.\nKnowledge of GIT or other software versioning applications.\nFamiliarity with electronics equipment and tools (Power Supplies, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, etc.).\nAnalytical mind and problem-solving, as well as a continuous learning attitude.\nExcellent attitude towards teamwork and cooperation.\nFlexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and stakeholders’ needs.\nPREFERRED SKILLS\nBackground in Space or Defense industries will be considered as a plus.\nExperience with CI/CD tools (BitBucket, Jenkins, SonarQube).\nFamiliarity with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, bash, etc.).\nKnowledge of communication interfaces and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, SpaceWire, etc.).\nUnderstanding software and hardware development lifecycle, system design, and agile methodologies.\nIMPORTANT NOTICE\nTo conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.\nARGOTEC OFFERS\nAnnual incentive pay is based upon performance and commensurate with the level of the position.\nGenerous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 100% match up to 8%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.\nAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, this announcement is aimed at both sexes, under laws 903/77 and 125/91, and to people of all ages and all nationalities, under legislative decrees 215/03 and 216/03.
