{"id":2447645,"url":"https://alion.io/job/argotec-platform-systems-engineer","title":"Platform Systems Engineer","company":{"id":2568581,"name":"Argotec","domain":"argotecgroup.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/argotecgroup","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"Backend","role_family":"Backend","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Italy"],"countries":["IT"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":35000,"max":45000,"currency":"EUR","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":50303},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Agile","optional":true},{"name":"Confluence","optional":true}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-09T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-09","last_verified_at":"2026-10-13T18:49:42Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":4,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":4},"description":"To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Platform Systems Engineer who will be part of our Systems Engineering Unit, contributing to the development of innovative and exciting space missions based on Small Satellite platforms, with a primary focus on system architecture and platform design and implementation processes.\nDUTIES\nAs a Platform Systems Engineer, you will manage all the critical aspects of the spacecraft design and architecture, overseeing all system-level activities.\nIn this role, you will ensure full compliance with system-level requirements, contributing to complex space missions throughout the complete spacecraft life cycle, from proposal and design phases to launch and in-orbit operations.\nThe activities will include (but are not limited to):\nInvolvement in space projects (from phase 0/A up to E) as accountable for system- and subsystem-level design activities;\nCoordination with the Mission Architect / Technical Lead and other technical figures in the team;\nDefinition and management of technical requirements and specifications throughout the entire project lifecycle;\nSupport the definition of Mission Concepts of Operations and Mission profiles;\nDevelop, support and review system analyses and budgets;\nPerform functional and FMEA analyses, leading to FDIR development;\nPreparation of technical documentation, reports and technical notes;\nSupport AIT, AIV and qualification activities at system or subsystem levels;\nSupport Flight Operations definition and execution;\nInterface with Quality Department and participate in (external/internal) NRB and NCR processes and configuration control processes;\nPreparation of technical proposals for new projects.\nGENERAL REQUIREMENTS\nMaster’s degree in Aerospace or Space Engineering or related technical field;\nAt least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within space field;\nExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;\nHigh flexibility and team-working capability;\nHands-on and proactive approach;\nAbility to work within multidisciplinary and international teams;\nExcellent written and oral communication in English.\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS\nKnowledge of system budgets (at least mass, power, energy, volume);\nKnowledge of mission, system and subsystems requirements definition and validation;\nGood understanding of satellite architecture and design;\nKnowledge of interfaces between subsystems (data, power, electrical);\nKnowledge of mission phases (as ECSS standard) and main activities to be performed;\nGeneral knowledge of spacecraft AIV campaign steps;\nKnowledge of system engineering tools and processes;\nKnowledge of aerospace systems applicable standards, such as ECSS, MIL, NASA STD;\nKnowledge of space component technologies and European/market of Small Satellite.\nADDITIONAL ASSETS\nExperience in the AOCS field will be considered a plus;\nKnowledge of FDIR design and implementation;\nExperience with MBSE approach and implementation;\nKnowledge of JIRA and Confluence in Agile working framework;\nExperience with CubeSat and SmallSat platforms;\nExperience with in-orbit spacecraft operations;\nPerformed projects review under Agency supervision (e.g. ESA, NASA, ASI).\nWHY JOIN ARGOTEC?\nOpportunity to work with highly motivated colleagues in a very innovative environment.\nProfessional training and career development opportunities.\nFlexible working time schedule and a hybrid work policy.\nMonthly \"Free-Day\" -
