Support includes the design, development, qualification, and testing of Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS) for small satellites.\nIn this position, you will have the opportunity to work independently and autonomously while being backed by the support of an experienced multi-functional team from Argotec’s headquarters in Italy.\nSpecific duties include (but are not limited to):\nDefinition and management of technical requirements and specifications\nThe technical trade-off, sizing, and architecture selection of PS and ADCS hardware\nDevelopment of ADCS suite for SmallSat platform\nDesign/architecture and selection of components\nImplementation of embedded ADCS SW control loop\nImplementation of ADCS control loop on HW\nVerification and Validation plan and execution of ADCS suite\nInterface implementation between ADCS and PS modules\nSupporting Performance analysis, modeling, and simulations\nSupporting the definition of mission conops and platform configuration\nManagement of system budgets with a particular focus on deltaV, momentum, and pointing budgets\nSupport AIT, AIV, acceptance, and qualification activities\nSupport for risk assessment and FMEA\nGENERAL REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, or other related STEM discipline and typically 10 or more years of Engineering or relevant experience (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education)\nUS Citizenship or US Permanent Residency\nExcellent written and oral communications\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS\nTeam player and a “Do what it takes” attitude\nProgressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams\nStrong background in any of the following areas: - Knowledge of SmallSat propulsion system (chemical, cold gas, and electrical) - Knowledge of SmallSat AOCS suite - Knowledge of spacecraft attitude dynamics and control theory - Knowledge of spacecraft attitude determination techniques (Kalman Filtering) - Knowledge of GNC sensors and actuators - Experience with momentum management strategies - Experience with running test campaigns on ADCS equipment - Experience with MIL, PIL, HIL testing campaign for ADCS loop - Experience with Flight AOCS SW Autocoding and Validation on HW - Experience with the Definition and implementation of SW/HW interfaces between the control board and ADCS equipment - Management and verification of technical requirements - Advanced knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, Python and C/C++\nGreat problem-solving skills\nPREFERRED SKILLS\nBackground in the Space or Defense\nFamiliar with Aerospace standards and tailoring\nPrevious experience developing a standalone ADCS systems\nExperience with CubeSat/NanoSat/SmallSat platforms\nExperience of LEOP and real-time operations of ADCS subsystem\nSpacecraft real-time operation/execution of AOCS maneuvers\nKnowledge of propulsion system and interface with ADCS loop\nKnowledge of orbital dynamics and SmallSat navigation\nExperience in writing technical proposals for future business opportunities\nIMPORTANT NOTICE\nTo conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.\nARGOTEC OFFERS\nAnnual incentive pay is based upon performance and commensurate with the level of the position.\nGenerous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 100% match up to 8%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.\nAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, this announcement is aimed at both sexes, under laws 903/77 and 125/91, and to people of all ages and all nationalities, under legislative decrees 215/03 and 216/03.
