Arista takes pride in designing and manufacturing the highest density and greatest bandwidth products in the market. As an Arista Hardware Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple cross-functional teams in the design and verification of an industry-leading portfolio of Networking Ethernet switches.\nThe total estimated annual compensation range for this position, inclusive of base salary, bonus, and equity, is $500,000 to $800,000. This range is a good faith estimate only. Bonus and equity are discretionary, subject to plan terms, and are not guaranteed components of total compensation. Please see additional base salary information below.\nWhat You'll Do\nProvide technical guidance and directions to hardware engineers, to resolve complex HW bring-up and cross functional problems\nHW schematic entry, Layout supervision, board bring-up, and cross functional system debug\nWork with product management teams to translate high-level product direction into future system designs with detailed, executable steps for cross-functional teams.\nDrive Vendor roadmaps of key components (ASICs, connectors, PCB vendors, etc.) to advance Arista’s HW designs, as well as align with internal product roadmaps\nCommunicate project status and changes to mitigate unexpected issues.\nParticipate in schematic and board design reviews\nAssist in analyzing Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulation and measurement results\nDevelop and communicate priorities across a portfolio of projects.\nDrive the design of high-quality products with high first-pass yields at manufacturing.\nEnsure the prototype manufacturing infrastructure and capacity meets product portfolio needs.\nAct as the initial point of contact for customer escalations, and supervise resolution \nManage, mentor, and motivate a team of hardware engineers with a diverse range of experience levels: from new college grads to experienced veterans of the industry.\nIdentify, define, and implement new processes and tools that help improve productivity and efficiency within the HW team\n BS or MS in Electrical Engineering \n10+ years of relevant experience in networking hardware design\nProven experience leading hardware engineering teams across multiple simultaneous projects. Prior technical management experience is a must\nProficient with high layer count printed circuit boards and high-speed design, with background experience or knowledge of key protocols such as: Ethernet, SMBus, SPI, PCIe, POE, WiFi, PTP, MDIO\nExpertise in Designing For Manufacturability (DFM) and collaborating with Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) and Joint Design Manufacturers (JDM)\nDemonstrated success in taking products from concept through to production.\nStrong communication skills and experience in guiding direct reports, working with other managers or other teams, and interfacing with executive leadership\nAbility to translate high-level product direction into actionable steps.\nEffective project management skills, including tracking execution and implementing corrective actions.\nExperience with embedded x86/ARM system design, gigabit+ signaling, high-speed buses, and regulatory compliance.\nSkilled in technical documentation, schematic design, CAD collaboration, and software engineering collaboration.\nFamiliarity with signal integrity and power integrity concepts and tools, such as: impedance, PDN’s, differential routing, insertion loss, S-parameters, TDR’s, VNA’s\nBackground experience with scripting, and general software development is a strong plus\nThis is an majority onsite role at our Santa Clara HQ, with minimal opportunities for remote work.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team and contribute to cutting-edge technology in the networking hardware industry. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The salary range provided reflects base pay only. As described above, this position may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. US- based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
