This is a unique opportunity tobe part of the team responsible for defining and shaping the future of Aritzia’s data architecture.As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will lead the strategic standardsdefinition, and governance of Aritzia’s enterprise data architecture. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Governance (with a matrix link to Global Architecture), you will not be building pipelines in isolation; instead, you will define the architectural guardrails, canonical models, and semantic standards that empower our engineering squads, analytics teams, and business domains to build trusted, scalable data capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in establishingarchitecture reviews, driving AI-ready data literacy, and ensuring enterprise-wide data interoperability across our modern tech stack.With your valuable contribution to the business in this role, the opportunities are endless - from a rewarding career in datato continued growth with Aritzia.\nTHE ROLE\nAs the Enterprise Data Architect, you will:\nTranslate business priorities into enterprise data architecture strategies, multi-year target-state data roadmaps, and federated data product standards.\n\nEstablish enterprise data standards for canonical models, shared vocabularies, reference data mappings, data flow diagrams, and business glossaries.\n\nOversee the central repository of data model system architectures, semantic artifacts, reference patterns, and reusable assets;driving accountability across authoring teams (Solution Delivery, Data & Analytics, Global Architecture) to maintaincompliant, accessible,andup-to-date documentation.\n\nRepresent Data Governance in formal Architecture Review Boards to evaluate proposed solutions for datatarget-state alignment.\n\nDrive architecture governance by leading standardsdevelopment, architectural reviews, reusable patterns, and best practices that improve consistency, quality, security, and scalabilityin partnershipwith Analytics Engineering Excellence. Global Architectureand Engineering Enablement teams.\n\nAssess and mature enterprise data and governance capabilities through benchmarking, capability assessments, and target-state roadmaps.\n\nEnable technical & business teamsby promoting data literacy across the enterprise through teaching, coaching, and leading tailored Communities of Practice (COP)sessions.\n\nTHE QUALIFICATIONS\nThe Enterprise Data Architecthas:\nProven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or equivalent experience; Master'spreferred.\n\n15+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data, analytics, data platforms, enterprise architecture, or data engineering leadership, including significant experiencein principal or lead architecture roles.\n\nDeep expertisedefining enterprise data strategy, target-state architecture, standards, reference architectures, and multi-year roadmaps across complex, multi-domain environments.\n\nHands-on architecture experience with modern public cloud data ecosystems across GCP, AWS, or Azure, and platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent.\n\nStrong experience architecting lakehouse, warehouse, streaming, orchestration, semantic, BI, and ML/AI consumption patterns with a focus on scalability, reliability, governance, observability, and cost-to-serve.\n\nStrong information architecture and data modeling experience across conceptual, logical, and physical layers, including canonical models, semantic layers, metricslayers, dimensional modeling, data contracts, and domain data products.\n\nProven experience establishingenterprise data governance capabilities, including ownership, stewardship, metadata, glossary, catalog, lineage, quality, classification, privacy, retention, and lifecycle management.\n\nExperience building or enabling federated data product operating models, Data Mesh principles, domain ownership, reusable data templates, automation, standards, and platform paved roads.\n\nExperience with data catalog, governance, lineage, MDM, observability, and quality tools such as dbt, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Denodo, cloud-native governance services, or equivalent.\n\nKnowledge indata integration and engineering patterns including batch, streaming, CDC, APIs, event-driven architecture, Kafka or cloud-native messaging, pipeline orchestration, and ELT/ETL.\n\nExperience enabling AI-ready data foundations for governed reporting, analytics, machine learning, GenAI, semantic search, knowledge representation, and emerging agentic use cases.\n\nExperience partnering across Digital, Retail, Product, Supply Chain, Corporate, Finance, Customer, ESG, or similarly complex consumer domains strongly preferred.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence VP and C-level stakeholders through clarity of technical thought, balanced trade-off analysis, business-aligned recommendations, and executive-ready storytelling.\n\nA commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Business and People Leadership principles\n\nTHE COMPENSATION\nAt Aritzia, we provide market-leading compensation packages designed to reward impact through our pay-for-performance philosophy. \nThe range for roles at this level is $100,000 - $300,000 per year.
