Discover your next career opportunity now!\nPosition Overview:\nWe are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Herndon, VA. You will work with a team building an operational software and AI system. A critical part of your role will include evaluating and integrating external tools, hands-on software testing, and adjudicating user feedback. You will bridge the gap between the customer's mission domain and our software engineering and AI teams to ensure solutions genuinely address operational pain points.\nResponsibilities:\nElicit and define stakeholder needs through user engagement\nTranslate stakeholder needs into software and AI system specifications\nEvaluate and integrate external tools into operational software\nPerform end-to-end requirements management including creation, decomposition, traceability, flow-down, verification tracking, and compliance matrices\nDevelop and execute test procedures to verify ad validate system requirements; generate formal test documentation\nSupport the development, integration, and validation of software and AI-enabled capabilities by collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle\nParticipate in program milestone events including customer meetings, government testing events, and discrepancy report review boards\nMinimal travel estimated to be once per quarter\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, IT, or related engineering field\nAt least 5 years of professional experience working in software development or systems engineering\nDemonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engagement with virtual teams\nEffective cross-organizational communicator with the ability to work well in a small team and fast paced agile environment\nAbility to translate mission requirements into software and AI requirements and features\nAbility to manage requirements to include requirements traceability\nAbility to develop and execute test procedures that verify software requirements\nWorking knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology\nAbility to work at an off-site location\nActive TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph\nPreferred Qualifications:\nKnowledge of AI/ML concepts, tools, and technology\nExperience with UI/UX design, prototyping tools, or user-centered design methodology\nExperience with using automated tests for formal requirement verification\nExperience with government Site Acceptance process and procedures\nExperience in working with software-defined interfaces that use either XML or JSON to both document and implement\nDemonstrated business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs\nFamiliarity with Cloud Architectures and deployment requirements for US Government\nExperience in the operational deployment of multi-product baselines and functionality\nExperience with Cameo modeling tools\nExperience developing a software architecture using digital tools\nExperience with DOORS or DOOR Next Gen\nExperience with Gitlab\nCurrent IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security+, CISSP, or CASP)\nLocation: Herndon, VA\nHerndon offers a charming blend of small-town ambiance and modern conveniences.
