We focus on the development of ultra-small satellites, particularly 6U and 50kg-class satellites, as well as the creation of satellite constellations-networks of multiple satellites. In addition, we offer a wide range of services, including the provision of related components and software, as well as the operation of ground stations for satellite control.\nWith the mission of \"Empowering people with satellites for a prosperous future,\" we strive to make space development and utilization accessible to everyone. We are developing ultra-small satellite constellations for various missions, such as Earth observation, maritime satellite communication (satellite VDES), optical communication, and LEO-PNT.\nFurthermore, we are also supporting humanity's next frontier with satellite infrastructure development for lunar activities and deep-space exploration. By pioneering these initiatives, we contribute to the creation of a new space industry ecosystem beyond Earth.\n###\nJob Overview\nDrawing on deep expertise in GNSS receiver signal processing and positioning computation, this position is responsible for the evaluation and verification of satellite-borne GNSS receivers. Beyond standalone receiver performance verification, the role places strong emphasis on integrated operation with the timekeeping control system and interface validation, ensuring that the payload system functions correctly as a whole. By leading the interface design and coordination between externally procured GNSS receivers and the system, you will contribute directly to satellite orbit and time determination - the core technology underpinning LEO-PNT (Low Earth Orbit Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) and LNSS (Lunar Navigation Satellite System). You will also take part in the in-house development of receivers for LEO-PNT and LNSS ground user terminals.\n###\nSpecific Responsibilities\n- Define technical requirements and develop specifications for satellite-borne GNSS receivers; communicate requirements to and coordinate technically with external contractors\n- Evaluate receiver characteristics for multi-constellation and multi-frequency support (GPS, Galileo, QZSS, etc.)\n- Assess quality of receiver observables (pseudorange, carrier phase, Doppler) and analyze error characteristics (C/N0, multipath, cycle slip, etc.)\n- Design and conduct GNSS receiver performance evaluation and functional verification using GNSS simulators\n- Design and define interfaces between GNSS receivers and the timekeeping control system; conduct integration testing\n- Provide technical feedback to the orbit and time determination team based on receiver evaluation results\n- In-house development of receivers for LEO-PNT and LNSS ground user terminals, including signal processing algorithm design and software-defined receiver implementation\n###\nRole Opportunities\n- Play a key role at the intersection of GNSS receiver evaluation and system integration in LEO-PNT and LNSS - among the world's first in the private sector\n- Career breadth beyond standalone receiver evaluation, with upstream involvement in interface design with timekeeping control systems and orbit/time determination\n- The rare opportunity to develop ground user terminal receivers for LEO-PNT and LNSS in-house - an experience that exists almost nowhere else in the private sector worldwide\n- Sharpen GNSS receiver expertise in the harsh space environment\n- Opportunities to collaborate with government and international partners including JAXA, NASA, and ESA\n- Opportunities to participate in and present at international conferences and to publish research\n###\nTeam & Culture\nWe foster an open and collaborative culture in which team members are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and constructively challenge established approaches, regardless of seniority or title. Our engineers come from both the space-sector and other technical backgrounds. We value the specialist knowledge of experienced space professionals alongside the fresh perspectives and transferable skills brought by people entering the industry. This diversity helps us respect proven experience while continuing to question conventional wisdom.\nApproximately 10% of our employees are international, and some meetings and activities are conducted in English. We also use translation and communication tools to support collaboration across languages. As much of our technical work and wider company communication takes place in Japanese, international team members should be willing to learn Japanese and make an active effort to communicate across language barriers. At the same time, we continually work to include non-native speakers and encourage all employees to contribute to broader discussions about diversity, inclusion, and how we can improve our workplace culture.\n###\nTools Used\n- OS: Windows, Linux\n- GNSS simulators\n- RF measurement instruments including spectrum analyzers and signal generators\n- Signal analysis and orbit computation using Python/MATLAB, etc.\n- Code management: GitHub\n- Task management: GitHub Projects V2 / GitHub Issues\n- Version control: Git\n- PC: Provided based on personal preference\n###\nSelection Process\nDocument Screening ＞ First Interview ＞ Second Interview (Aptitude Test) ＞ Final Interview\nRequirements\n###\nCompany Overview\nArkEdge Space Inc. is a space startup founded in 2018, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and operation of small satellites.
