The Future is Built on Arm.\nTechnology based on Arm is all around us, from industrial and automotive applications, to the IoT, to the desktop and data centre. ‘Wherever Computing Happens’, we need to enable Arm by providing software solutions that interface higher-level software stacks with the hardware itself.\nArm is seeking skilled, experienced, and highly motivated embedded software developer, located in Budapest, to join our Software Engineering group.\nAs a member of an Arm Central Engineering Software team, you will have the opportunity to influence on the evolution of Computing on Arm for the Automotive, Computing Infrastructure, Consumer Technologies and Internet of Things markets.\nWhilst closely collaborating as part of a distributed team spread across multiple locations both for vertical Solutions or shared Components your primary goal will include development of system software and its maintenance and support!\nResponsibilities:\nActive involvement in the software design and test of reference application processor firmware.\nYour day-to-day role will involve low level software development, test and debug on various platforms, including software models, development boards and shipping products.\nCreating software stacks for Arm’s reference platforms for future Arm devices with associated development of test code\nCreate automation solutions to streamline and minimize manual testing and development tasks.\nWe want you to be able to analyse industry specs, roadmap requirements, breakdown tasks and help implement the project plans.\nActivities will involve Open-source upstreaming and maintenance with a broad community.\nRequired Skills and Experience :\nExcellent C/C++ programming skills with the ability to add significant new functionality, analyse and fix complex defects. Some knowledge of assembly and strong debugging skills are preferred.\nDemonstrated experience with software testing or software development.\nExpertise in application and low-level systems, with a strong understanding of system architecture (preferably ARM), OS and Firmware fundamentals, bootloaders and device drivers\nGood understanding of test methodologies, CI and test automation.\nStrong interpersonal skills; excellent written and spoken English.\n“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :\nExperience with Python programming and writing shell scripts.\nKnowledge and experience of use of Rust would be helpful.\nFamiliarity with open-source project development cycles and contribution processes.\nExperience of software profiling, instrumentation and optimization.\nA knowledge of how to test software using various techniques alongside an awareness of the value of CI and automated test systems.\nExperience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.\nFamiliarity and flexibility in the use of various software development lifecycle methods including Agile.\nExposure to AI tools to accelerate areas of the software development process.\nIn Return:\nOur offices are inspiring and collaborative spaces.
