What you do here will not only define your career but help further Armada’s mission to bridge the digital divide for customers around the world. \nAbout the role\nWe are seeking a Lead Level 2 Data Center NOC Engineer to provide technical leadership and operational ownership across modular, edge, and distributed data center environments. Thisleadrole actsis responsible leading incident response, mentoring NOC staff, and ensuring uptime of critical infrastructure including power, cooling, and networking systems. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on troubleshooting with strong leadership, communication, and process ownership. \nLocation\nThis position may be performed remotely in the U.S. The Greater Seattle Area is strongly preferred, given Armada's operations and the collaborative nature of the role.\nWhat You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)\nShift & Operational Leadership: \nAct as the senior technical leadon shift, guiding and supporting L1 NOC technicians. \nServe as primary escalation point for incidents until resolution or handoff to L3 Engineering. \nLead shift handovers, prioritization, and operational decision-making. \nMentor and coach junior NOC staff and support onboarding. \nRepresent the NOC during cross-functional incident bridges. \nIncident Command & Reliability: \nServe as Incident Commander for medium to high-severity incidents. \nOwn end-to-end incident lifecycle: detection, triage, mitigation, communication, and resolution. \nDrive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for recurring issues. \nEnsure high-quality, executive-ready incident communications. \nContinuously improve MTTR and operational reliability. \nInfrastructure & Data Center Operations: \nMonitor and troubleshoot physical infrastructure using PLC, BMS, and DCIM platforms. \nPerform health checks on UPS, PDUs, generators, CRAC/CRAH systems. \nTroubleshoot MEP-related issues and coordinate maintenance and remote hands. \nSupport modular, containerized, and micro data center deployments. \nEnforce physical and logical security policies. \n\nNetworking Operations & Troubleshooting (L2): \nMonitor and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and edge connectivity. \nPerform L2/L3 troubleshooting (VLANs, IP addressing, MTU, routing fundamentals). \nValidate fiber/copper connectivity, optics, link status, and redundancy paths. \nTroubleshoot VPNs and secure remote access solutions. \nEscalate architecture or design issues to Network Engineering (L3). \nTooling, Runbooks & Automation: \nUse observability and ITSM platforms (Grafana, Zenduty, ServiceNow, Jira, SolarWinds). \nOwn and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and escalation procedures. \nImprove alerting quality, dashboards, and noise reduction. \nSupport automation, reporting, audits, and compliance requests. \nCollaboration & Change Management: \nPartner with Engineering and Product teams. \nParticipate in change planning, execution, and post-change validation. \nIdentify operational gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives. \nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years experience in NOC, data center, or infrastructure operations. \nDemonstrated experience leading incidents or technical shifts. \nStrong hands-on experience with DCIM/BMS platforms (Distech, Schneider, RadixIOT). \nAdvanced L2/L3 networking troubleshooting experience. \nSolid understanding of power, cooling, and monitoring systems. \nAbility to interpret electrical one-lines and network diagrams. \nComfortable with shift work and on-call rotations. \nPreferred Experience and Skills\nCertifications: CCNA, JNCIA, CDCTP, CDCP, or equivalent. \nExperience with edge/remote connectivity (VSAT, LTE/5G, Starlink). \nFamiliarity with Linux/Windows server environments. \nBasic scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).\nCompensation\nFor U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the starting base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed below, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications.\nWe use a geographic pay structure based on cost-of-labor markets. \n Tier 1 (e.g., SF Bay Area, NYC, Seattle): $144,715 - $180,890\n Tier 2 (most U.S. metro areas): $125,840 - $157,300 \n Tier 3 (other cities): $119,548 - $149,435\nFinal compensation will be determined by experience, scope, and level, and may vary from the posted range. \nIn addition to base salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).\nBenefits\nCompetitive base salary and equity\nMedical, dental, and vision (subsidized cost)\nHealth savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and dependent care FSAs (DCFSA)\nRetirement plan options, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k)\nUnlimited paid time off (PTO)\n14 paid company holidays per year\nCompensation\n$125,840—$157,300 USD\nYou're a Great Fit if You're\nA go-getter with a growth mindset.
