Together, we’re creating a legacy that goes beyond business-one that’s changing the world for the better.\nThe Service Engineer (Industrial Gas) is responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across a portfolio of more than 130 customer sites under Annual Service Contracts (ASCs). The role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of industrial gas systems and associated equipment while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.\nKey Accountabilities\nAnnual Service Contract Delivery\nPlan, coordinate, and execute preventative maintenance activities across over 130 contracted customer sites.\nEnsure all ASC obligations are delivered within agreed service levels and contract requirements.\nMaintain accurate service schedules and support resource planning to achieve contractual commitments.\nMonitor contract performance and identify opportunities for service improvements and contract renewals.\nMaintenance and Technical Support\nPerform inspection, servicing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial gas equipment and related systems.\nDiagnose equipment faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime.\nConduct commissioning and recommissioning of equipment following maintenance activities.\nSupport emergency call-outs and reactivemaintenance requirements as required. \nHealth, Safety and Compliance\nAdhere to company Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.\nEnsure all work complies with relevant industry regulations, standards, and customer site requirements.\nComplete permits to work, method statements, and service documentation accurately.\nPromote a strong safety culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nCustomer Relationship Management\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers across all contracted sites.\nProvide technical advice and recommendations to customers regarding equipment performance and maintenance requirements.\nAct as a professional representative of the company at all times.\nEscalate customer concerns and support the resolution of service-related issues.\nDocumentation and Reporting\nComplete service reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation promptly and accurately.\nMaintain asset histories and update service management systems.\nProduce recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement works.\nTrack and report key service performance indicators.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve service delivery efficiency and reliability.\nSupport implementation of best practices and standardised maintenance procedures.\nContribute to technical knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior engineers where appropriate.\nParticipate in training and development activities to maintain technical competency.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nTo thrive in this role, you should bring:\nEducation and Experience\nHNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.\nExperience in a field service, maintenance engineering, or industrial service environment.\nExperience managing preventative maintenance programmes across multiple customer sites.\nKnowledge of Annual Service Contracts and service delivery requirements.\nExperience working within industrial, manufacturing, utilities, process, gas, HVAC, fluid handling, or similar engineering sectors.\nFull UK driving licence.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong fault-finding and diagnostic capability on mechanical and electrical systems.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications.\nKnowledge of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance techniques.\nUnderstanding of industrial safety standards, risk management, and safe working practices.\nExperience with commissioning, testing, and performance verification of equipment.\nCompetence in preparing technical reports and maintenance documentation.\nWorking knowledge of pumps, motors, controls, instrumentation, variable speed drives, and associated equipment.\nUnderstanding of industrial gas systems and related plant equipment.\nSoft Skills\nExcellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage a large portfolio of customer sites and service activities.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective customer relationships.\nCustomer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.\nHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.\nFlexible and adaptable approach to changing operational requirements.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and customer stakeholders.\nProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nWhy Armstrong Fluid Technology?\nBy joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology while upholding Armstrong's commitment to sustainability.
