Operating at the intersection of continuous innovation and regional execution, this role requires practical expertise in industrial automation-specifically PLCs, HMIs, and robust network protocols. You will be instrumental in executing technical responsibilities within the core product development team, while simultaneously serving as the primary engineering backbone for our regional sales, service, and production operations. As key member of the product development team, you will be supporting the sales inquiries, supporting service team to reduce onsite resolution times for field issues, and ensure our optimization deployments are highly standardized, scalable, and built on reliable technical foundations.\nThis position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic technology initiatives that directly impact product performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth.\nKey Accountabilities\nJob Accountability\nStandardization & Product Development: Drive the continuous standardization of optimization products across the India and APAC regions, actively collaborating with global product development to ensure field-tested, repeatable configurations are integrated into the core R&D roadmap.\nPre-Sales Engineering Support: Act as the dedicated regional technical authority for the sales team, accelerating sales cycles by unblocking complex technical inquiries, advising on customer system requirements, and verifying robust automation architectures.\nAdvanced Field Troubleshooting: Provide rapid, hands-on diagnostic support for the regional service team, taking direct technical ownership of complex onsite escalations to significantly reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and minimize customer downtime.\nJob Accountability\nIndustrial Automation Execution: Develop, program, and troubleshoot comprehensive automation architectures, utilizing deep expertise in PLCs, HMIs, and diverse industrial network protocols to ensure optimal performance of field installations.\nCoordinate changes to control logic, configuration, and system documentation to ensure smooth integration.\nParticipate in testing, validation, and deployment activities to ensure performance and reliability.\nJob Accountability\nSupport the implementation of advanced control features and system enhancements.\nWork with cross-functional teams to create and monitor development and rollout plans for new platform capabilities.\nCoordinate changes to control architecture, firmware, and network configurations.\nParticipate in design reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nTo thrive in this role, you should bring:\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering, or a related field\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation, or a related discipline.\nProven experience with Carel and JACE PLC platforms, control logic programming, and system integration.\nDeep experience in HVAC application systems and implementation of control features is an asset.\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Bacnet) and system testing methodologies.\nDemonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and contribute to large-scale engineering initiatives.\nTechnical Skills\nIndustrial Automation & Control Systems\nPLC Programming background utilizing Ladder logic, Functional Block, Structured Texts.\nHMI Design & Development\nControl Logic Design & Troubleshooting\nNetwork and Communication protocols\nIndustrial Networking: Modbus, Ethernet/IP, BACnet\nNetwork Troubleshooting & Configuration\nHVAC industry experience is an asset\nKnowledge of different control algorithms and models is an asset (PID control)\nSoft Skills\nThe capability to simplify complex problems, conduct root cause analysis, and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations.\nTeam-oriented leadership skills with a proactive approach.\nAn ability to communicate openly and authentically in all situations.\nWhy Armstrong Fluid Technology?\nBy joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology while upholding Armstrong's commitment to sustainability.
