You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges.\nRole Purpose\nThe Control System Design Engineer will manage engineering design drawing revision control and work closely with customers to update drawings, review P&ID, block diagrams, and schematics, ensuring all technical files are accurately uploaded to the database.\nThe role includes overseeing the engineering change control process and maintaining up-to-date documentation of all process modifications, changes, and improvements within the BOM structure and routing system to ensure full traceability.\nThe engineer will also develop and implement structured methodologies for New Product Introduction (NPI) to support a seamless transition from design to full-scale production and actively participate in DFMA workshops to support value engineering (VA/VE) and the standardization of products.\nWe invite applications from experienced Control System Design Engineers with a background in building services or industrial control systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as the Design Authority for controls engineering projects, promoting shared standards, design consistency, and continuous improvement.\nDesign and develop control panel hardware, electrical schematics, and control system software using industry-standard design tools.\nProduce and review Sequences of Operation, specifications, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation.\nManage design revisions, engineering change control, and maintain accurate documentation and traceability.\nAttend client and internal design review meetings, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.\nConduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities as required.\nSupport New Product Introduction (NPI), DFMA workshops, value engineering (VA/VE), and product standardisation initiatives.\nCollaborate with manufacturing, project management, and customers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.\nManage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all process modifications, changes, and improvements within the BOM structure and routing system, ensuring full traceability.\nProduction & Process Support\nProduction Support:\nProvide proactive technical support to production teams to ensure seamless execution of build plans, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.\nCollaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot issues and develop robust, timely solutions.\nCollaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions.\nManage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process to address defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nEnsure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, embedding best practices within production processes to uphold workplace safety and operational integrity.\nEnsure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all process modifications, changes, and improvements within BOM structure and routing system, maintaining full traceability.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nTo thrive in this role, you should bring:\nEducation:\nDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.\nExperience in industrial control systems, control panel design, and automation solutions.\nStrong understanding of electrical control systems, schematics, PLCs, HMIs, and associated technologies.\nExperience with engineering change control, BOM management, and manufacturing documentation.\nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.\nFull UK Driving Licence (essential).\nPermanent UK Residency or equivalent \nSkills:\nIn-depth expertise in manufacturing processes and materials, encompassing fabrication, welding, structural steel, building construction, and associated trade disciplines, with proven experience in modular build environments and compliance with standards such as EN BS 1090.\nProficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical) and other engineering tools\nExtensive experience with lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement methodologies in a low-volume, high-value manufacturing environment.\nExpertise in defining manufacturing and quality-related standards, originating visual standards, SOPs, and work instructions, and delivering training to skilled personnel.\nKnowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) (e.g., ISO 9001).\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nEffective communication and teamwork abilities.\nWhy Armstrong Fluid Technology?\nBy joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology.
