You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges.\nThe Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in verifying the performance of our pump products. You will be responsible for providing all the necessary information, prototype assembly, laboratory testing, and record keeping. You will support in determining equipment performance, generating and collecting accurate data for engineering teams, and tracking any and all malfunctioning equipment.\nThis position is based out our head office in Scarborough, Ontario.\nln addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:\nTesting\nSetting up and conducting tests of complete units or components under operating conditions to investigate the improvement of performance or to obtain data for development, standardization, or quality control.\nWorking from wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions, either verbally or in writing as it pertains to test-loop setup and test-specimen performance schedules.\nWorking closely with machine shop or machine shop vendors when making alterations to test specimens or test equipment components.\nResponsible for keeping the pump test stand, engineering testing area, and instruments in good condition.\nKeeping instruments calibrated according to the calibration schedule and updating copies of calibration reports.\nVerifying pump performance on in-house orders.\nEvaluating and giving re-work instructions to the worker, as necessary\nMaintaining and installing temperature, pressure, voltage, current, and power measurement devices and their associated instrumentation.\nInforming group leader or supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment conditions and any corrective actions to be taken.\nExamining component parts for conformance with dimensional specifications, using precision measuring instruments.\nCollaborating with engineering development products as a tester by participating in and executing a development test plan.\nAssistance & Reporting\nAssisting with equipment material test studies.\nPerforming necessary data manipulations utilizing computers.\nPerforming a;; necessary inspection operations.\nReporting all problems to supervisor.\nAdhering to all required health & safety policies and procedures\nAssisting line inspectors with serious quality problems, as necessary\nAll other duties as may be assigned\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nTo thrive in this role, you should bring:\nTechnical degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering\n1-2 years of experience working with hydronic pumps and system testing\nMachine Shop or Product Assembly experience in pump-related industries\nBasic electrical wiring knowledge\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematics\nAbility to use the required measuring equipment\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD\nAbility to break down problems in a simplified way, conduct root-cause analyses, and provide clear recommendations\nStrong interpersonal skills\nSelf-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.\nAbility to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.\nWhy Armstrong Fluid Technology?\nBy joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology.
