We want people who are excited about the opportunity to take ownership for building AI within a high-performance, mission-focused team.\nYou will be working with AI/ML models and deploying them within our software products, both running in the cloud and on edge devices in the field. The role will also encompass addressing the wider practicalities and challenges in implementing AI-based systems, including obtaining training data, addressing ethical concerns and explaining model behaviours.\nAs an early member of the AI team at Arondite, you will be able to shape how we exploit the AI revolution, both as part of products and to accelerate our internal processes.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nWorking with customers to identify and understand their problems\nDesigning end-to-end AI solutions from the sensor to the user interface\nTraining, evaluating, testing and productionising robust and performant deep learning models to solve real-world challenges\nCollaborating with other engineers to integrate models into our enterprise software product and resource-constrained hardware systems\nInventing novel capabilities and optimising existing approaches whilst remaining aware of ethical implications of your engineering decisions\nDocumenting and explaining your solutions to provide evidence of compliance with policies regarding the safe use of AI\nBuilding secure, robust solutions by adhering to coding standards throughout the development lifecycle\nRequirements\nArondite aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds and with different perspectives. We therefore don’t expect people to have experience across every area of the requirements. Please apply even if you only partially fulfil the following lists.\nYou should have:\nMasters degree (MSc, MEng, etc) in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics or a related engineering field\n4 years of relevant experience researching and applying modern AI/ML in areas such as scene understanding, multi-modal sensing, control and path planning, or vision-language understanding.\nThe ability to write clean and maintainable code in Python, Rust, C++ or Java\nExperience with frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow or JAX\nStrong written and verbal communication skills to document your work effectively and present it to relevant stakeholders and users\nA passion for identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions to hard problems using AI and conventional algorithms\nIdeally, you would also have:\nPhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field\nAuthored publications in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g. CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, IROS, TPAMI)\nExperience working with MLOps infrastructure or deploying AI models to production, including the associated monitoring, testing and quality assurance\nAn understanding of different sensor modalities, their trade-offs, and relevant methods for processing their outputs to drive performance in challenging scenarios\nCreated and optimised state-of-the-art AI models for resource-constrained hardware\nExperience with synthetic data generation or simulation, or collection and management of large real-world datasets\nRight to Work\nWe require that all candidates have an existing Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.\nSecurity clearance\nWe believe in working closely with defence customers. As a result, this role will require the individual to hold a clearance or be willing to undergo UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above.
