Senior Quant Engineer

Arrakis aims to disrupt the current market-making industry by providing the infrastructure to enable every project in the world that wants to launch a token to benefit from non-custodial, trust-less, and automated on-chain market-making strategies. We believe in a world where every organisation, from a small startup to a large enterprise, will be tokenised and traded on-chain. For this world, Arrakis is building the tools to create the necessary liquidity to enable this token economy to rival and out-compete the traditional financial industry.

Arrakis is expanding into a new area of systematic liquidity provision across advanced on-chain trading venues. This initiative focuses on markets where derivatives, leverage, and high-frequency execution dynamics introduce a significantly more complex trading environment than traditional spot AMMs. We need a Senior Quant Engineer (not a pure researcher, not a pure developer - someone who bridges both).

What you’ll accomplish

• Design and build market-making engines, including pricing, quoting, inventory management, and hedging logic.

• Develop and maintain real-time risk and exposure management systems, including limits, monitoring frameworks, and kill-switch mechanisms.

• Own architectural decisions related to performance, scalability, and system resilience.

• Collaborate with on-chain and protocol teams to integrate trading logic into broader infrastructure.

• Improve tooling, workflows, and deployment safety to enable faster iteration without compromising control.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate has:

• Deep hands-on experience building order book market making strategies - specifically passive/maker-oriented, not aggressive taker strategies

• Ability to model, build, backtest, deploy, and iterate on such systems end to end

• Can articulate different market making model approaches (e.g. Avellaneda-Stoikov style math-based models vs. ML-based approaches) and their trade-offs in practice

• Based in or willing to relocate to Zürich area (3 days/week in office required)
