You'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment, and contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes.\nThe role offers a mix of hands-on accounting responsibilities, stakeholder engagement and process improvement activity, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their management accounting career in a fast-paced and collaborative team.\nThis role is based at our Thurmaston office and operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nTaking ownership of key month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments.\nPreparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items.\nSupporting the production of monthly management accounts and period-end reporting.\nAssisting with statutory, tax and group reporting requirements.\nProviding information and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.\nWorking closely with Finance Business Partners and colleagues across Shared Services to resolve queries and support operational decision-making.\nMaintaining process documentation and ensuring adherence to internal controls and governance requirements.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve, standardise and simplify processes across the R2R function.\nProviding flexible support across the wider finance team during busy reporting periods.\nWhat We're Looking For\nPart-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA (or equivalent relevant experience).\nExperience within a management accounting or financial accounting environment.\nStrong understanding of month-end processes, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.\nGood Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nExcellent attention to detail and organisational skills.\nAbility to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines.\nA collaborative and proactive approach with strong stakeholder management skills.\nDesirable Experience\nPrevious experience within a Shared Services environment.\nExperience working within a large or complex organisation.\nOracle E-Business Suite experience.\nExposure to process improvement or finance transformation initiatives.\nWhy Join Us?\nYou'll be joining an established UK Bus Finance Shared Services team that supports multiple operating companies across the UK.
