You’ll partner closely with Finance, Investments, Asset Management, Operations, and the broader Accounting team to ensure our books are accurate, audit-ready, and scalable as we grow.This is a great role for someone who is highly analytical, enjoys solving complex accounting and operational problems, and can move comfortably between digging into the details and seeing the bigger picture.\nProperty Accounting Leadership & Close\nServe as the operational lead for Property Accounting and own the overall month-end close across our portfolio of property issuers.\nLead, mentor, and develop the Property Accounting Operations team, providing review, guidance, and clear accountability.\nOversee closing entries, reconciliations, and property financials, ensuring accounting is complete, accurate, and timely.\nOwn complex and non-routine property accounting, including acquisitions, dispositions, property taxes, escrows, and other real estate transactions.\nProactively identify accounting and operational issues, investigate root causes, and independently drive them through resolution.\nPartner with the Controller on matters requiring technical accounting judgment and with the Manager, Financial Reporting & Audit to ensure issuers are ready for financial reporting and audit review.\nCash Accounting & Controls\nOversee cash accounting and reconciliation across property issuers, ensuring cash activity is accurately and timely reflected in the books.\nEstablish and maintain a strong daily cash reconciliation process as a key upstream accounting control.\nOversee accounting related to property closings, IPO escrows, intercompany transfers, and other issuer cash activity.\nInvestigate and resolve complex cash discrepancies and identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.\nLeverage automation and offshore support for recurring cash processes while maintaining appropriate review, controls, and accountability.\nCross-Functional Partnership & New Products\nServe as the accounting lead for new property-related products and initiatives, including our 1031 exchange program.\nPartner with Finance, Investments, Asset Management, and Operations to understand new transactions and establish appropriate accounting processes and controls.\nSupport accounting activity that connects property issuers with Holdings & Affiliates, including Short-Term Notes and intercompany activity.\nBuild scalable accounting processes for new transactions, entity structures, and investment products.\nBuild & Scale\nIdentify opportunities to automate recurring accounting processes, strengthen controls, and improve close efficiency.\nBuild standardized workflows, reconciliations, and review procedures that scale with our growing portfolio.\nEffectively leverage technology, automation, and offshore resources to reduce manual work.\nMaintain audit-ready accounting and supporting documentation throughout the year.\nIdentify repeatable accounting and operational challenges and turn them into sustainable process improvements.\nQualifications\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate.\nExperience leading accounting operations, managing month-end close processes, and developing accounting team members.\nStrong understanding of GAAP, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.\nExperience managing accounting across multiple entities or a complex investment portfolio.\nStrong cash accounting and reconciliation experience, including oversight of accounting controls.\nDemonstrated ability to investigate complex accounting and operational issues and independently drive solutions.\nHighly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance hands-on problem-solving with broader operational oversight.\nStrong organizational and communication skills with an ownership mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.\nAuthorized to work in the U.S. and fluent in English.\nNice to Haves\nCPA certification.\nReal estate accounting experience that includes acquisitions, dispositions, escrows, and property taxes.\nExperience in prop-tech, fintech, or regulated investment environments.\nFamiliarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems.\nExperience with accounting automation, offshore resources, and process improvement.\nWhy Arrived\nCulture: We’re a small and quickly growing team, passionate about our mission to help others meet their financial goals.Growth: We’re solving tough problems and moving fast.
