EngineerJob Description:\nResponsibilities·\nSupport Design Engineering in identification and qualification of Electronics, electrical and mechanical components.\nMust have critical thinking skills, understanding parts lists, BOM's, electronic categories, components and attributes.\n Review, analyse and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM's) down to manufacturer part level.\nInitiate and lead the efforts to identify and qualify second sources for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement purposes.\nUnderstand component technology roadmaps/trends and present them to Design Engineering.\nDevelop and execute component evaluation, acceptance and qualification test plans.\nIdentify critical and high-risk components in products and proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-of-life (EOL).\nIdentify and mitigate risks related to counterfeit electronic components.\nWork with approved suppliers and authorized distributors to ensure component authenticity.\nCommunicate to component manufacturers regarding component failures.\nEnsure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc.\nReview and address Product Change Notices (PCN's) from component manufacturers along tracking component lifecycles.\n Provide input to new designs to improve product reliability.\nThe Material / Component Engineering will serve as a technical resource to Procurement and Quality.\nSupport root cause analysis activities for field/component failures in coordination with Quality and Design teams.\nProvide technically compliant alternate solutions for MIL, Medical, Aerospace, and industrial-grade components.\nReview connector requirements and recommend compatible accessories and associated components.\nMaintain updates to Component Supplier management tool and workflows.\nFamiliarity with IPC standards, JEDEC standards, and MIL specifications is
