The primary focus of the role will be to serve as a ‘good steward’ of the data by documenting the journey of it from source to target and all transformations in between. The Data Steward will act as a bridge between the business and the technical team, helping to establish standards, ownership, and trust in our data assets. Ultimately, this is a key role that helps us manage and exploit data as an asset.\nKey Responsibilities\nComplete and maintain the group’s Data Catalog\nDocument data lineage, transformations and cleansing rules\nWork with Data Engineering to ensure data is handled correctly\nHelp define effective Data Quality rules for the data they deal with\nWork with the Business and Data Engineers to help bottom out issues with the data\nHelp drive root cause remediation of data issues at the platform/source\nAbove all, the Data Steward is expected to serve as a subject-matter expert in the datasets they deal with and serve as the point of contact for them within the team\nAbout you\nDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field is preferable\nProven experience in a Data Governance or Data Management program\nFamiliarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)\nA background in financial data domains (IBOR/ABOR, transactions, market data, reference data)\nStrong experience within Real Estate, Credit, Banking, or NPL Asset Management\nResourceful, motivated self-starter with the ability to collaborate across business and technology\nStrong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills\nAbility to acquire a deep understanding of specific datasets and how they flow\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes are still being defined\nProficiency in SQL is a must.
