We value trust, teamwork, and adaptability.\nThe Role\nWe’re building the core systems that power Arta’s wealth platform - including trading infrastructure, ledgering, billing, and real-time data pipelines.\nThis role focuses on high-reliability financial systems, where correctness, consistency, and latency are critical.\nYou’ll work on systems such as:\nTrading and order workflows\n\nLedger and portfolio accounting systems\n\nMarket data and analytics pipelines\n\nYou may also interface with AI-powered systems, but your primary focus is building the financial and data backbone that everything else depends on.\nIf you enjoy building systems where correctness is non-negotiable and failure has real consequences, this role will suit you well.\nWhat You Will Do\nDesign and build core financial systems (trading, ledger, billing)\n\nDevelop systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management\n\nBuild and scale real-time and batch data pipelines\n\nArchitect APIs and backend services for internal and external use\n\nEnsure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance\n\nContribute to distributed systems design (event-driven systems, microservices, streaming)\n\nPartner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems (as needed, not core focus)\n\nWho You Are\n5+ years backend or systems engineer with experience in distributed systems\n\nExperience in at least one:\nFinancial systems (trading, ledger, payments)\n\nData infrastructure\n\nScalable backend platforms\n\nStrong understanding of system design, consistency, and reliability\n\nSolid programming skills (Python or similar)\n\nExperience with modern infra (Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, etc.)\n\nLocation: We work 3 days/week in our Mountain View office.\n\nStrong Plus\nExperience with financial primitives (ledger, order management, reconciliation)\n\nExperience in low-latency or high-throughput systems\n\nExposure to data platforms or streaming systems\n\nSome familiarity with ML systems (nice-to-have, not required)\n\nInterview Process -One in-person technical interview is required for ALL candidates\nIntro call with Recruiting Team, 30m - Virtual\n\n2 Coding/Algorithm/Data Structures, 60m each - 1 In-person, 2nd may be virtual\n\nDomain Knowledge & System Design, 60m - In-person\n\nLeadership Interview, 30m - In-person or Virtual\n\nNote: We require at least one in-person technical interview before making our offer decision.
