We value trust, teamwork, and adaptability.\nThe Role\nIn this role, you will design and build the backend systems that power Arta's B2B wealth platform - the infrastructure banks and financial platforms use to deliver institutional-grade investment products to their clients. You'll own services end-to-end, from API design to data models to production reliability, working extensively with AI coding agents and LLM-based tooling to ship faster and operate at higher leverage than a traditional backend team.\nYou'll be embedded with a partner, working alongside their engineers and inside the systems and constraints they already run, and you'll own a partner integration from early design through to production. You will be a technical contact for the partner's engineering and product teams - the person they work with day to day on design questions, debugging across the system boundary, and getting the infrastructure\n\nWrite clean, well-tested, observable code, and use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality\n\nBuild and integrate LLM and agent-powered backend capabilities where they unlock product value (e.g., automated workflows, intelligent data processing, agent-driven user experiences)\n\nBuild reliable, scalable services that integrate with third-party financial systems, including workflow orchestration (Temporal), monitoring and evals, and participation in on-call and incident response\n\nWho You Are\nPreferred: partner-facing experience\nYou've been the technical person in front of a customer or partner - not supporting someone else's meeting, but the one they direct questions at\n\nAble to explain a technical trade-off to a business stakeholder and a technical one in the same meeting\n\nSound judgment about what to commit to under pressure, and comfortable saying no to a partner without damaging the relationship\n\nComfortable with ambiguity, incomplete specs, and systems you can't see all of\n\nComfortable being based at a partner site, and open to occasional travel\n\nAnd you can build\nAt least 5 years of backend software development experience, with strong proficiency in Python (or similar)\n\nDeep understanding of distributed systems, RESTful and/or gRPC APIs, microservices, and database systems (SQL and NoSQL)\n\nStrong on integration work: APIs, data modeling, authentication, moving data between systems and organisations\n\nExperience designing for reliability, performance, and security in production environments\n\nFluency with AI coding tools and a track record of using them to materially raise your
