For more information visit www.artemisgoldinc.com.\nReporting to the Superintendent of Mine Engineering, the Drill and Blast Engineer will be responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and optimization of drilling and blasting activities to facilitate a safe, productive and cost-effective program. This role will work closely with the Short-Range Planner to ensure drill, blast, and mining activities meet the required business goals.\nLocation: Blackwater Mine Site\nSchedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation\nResponsibilities\nDesign and Planning\nDrill pattern, explosives loading and blast timing designs.\n4 Week drill and blast plans delivered weekly.\nDeliver Bench plans to support mid-range planning.\nWork with geology to incorporate Grade Control Drill plans.\nExecution and QA/QC\nConduct field inspections to verify drilling accuracy (QA/QC) regarding hole depth, collar location, and deviation.\nOversee the implementation of blast plans, ensuring correct explosives loading and stemming.\nLiaise daily with Drill & Blast Supervisors and blasters to resolve operational bottlenecks.\nMonitor blast performance and post-blast results (fragmentation analysis, heave, floor conditions\nMonitor drill and blast consumables usage.\nActively support the geotechnical engineer\nSafety and Compliance\nReview all activities for compliance with site safety standards, management plans and the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.\nPerform fly rock assessments and manage blast exclusion zones.\nParticipate in risk assessments and root cause analyses when required.\nContinuous Improvement\nBe an active leader in the Mine to Mill optimization programs.\nPerform drill and blast consumables analysis and prepare recommendations.\nDevelopment of vibration monitoring programs and perform wall control analyses.\nDevelop a blast fragmentation analysis program and provide technical recommendations.\nDevelop and execute a vibration monitoring program.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mine or Civil Engineering required.\n3 to 5 years of mine operations/engineering experience required.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.\nEligible to register as a Professional Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) required.\nProficiency in mine planning software, such as Deswik, and relevant engineering tools.\nExperienced with open pit survey methods, systems, and processes.\nStrong user of Microsoft suite of products.\nStrong project management skills and experience in leading engineering projects.\nTeam player that can quickly generate productive working relationships and can influence others\nPreferred Skills\nExcellent organizational skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team effort as well as individually.\nStrong interpersonal with both oral and written communication skills.\nExperience using Power BI and Power Query\nExperience generating power automate workflows\nExperience using VBA scripts to automate excel based work processes\nAbility to work at a remote camp location on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.\nAbility to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.\nAbility to work in extreme weather conditions.\nStart up and production experience an asset.\nShort Range Planning experience considered an asset as mine technical coverage will be required.\nBenefits\nPaid Time Off\nRRSP Matching\nExtended Health, Dental & Vision Care\nDisability Insurance\nLife Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program\nCognitive Behavioural Therapy Programs \nWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, religion, national origin, status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or domestic/civil partnership status, or any other basis protected by law.
