For more information visit www.artemisgoldinc.com.\nReporting to the Superintendent - Water Management, the Water Resources Engineer is responsible for planning, design, construction, operation, monitoring, and optimizing water management systems and infrastructure across the Blackwater Mine site. The role provides technical leadership in mine water management, hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, water balance modelling, water treatment, civil and mechanical infrastructure, environmental compliance, and capital projects.\nLocation: Blackwater Mine Site\nSchedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation\nResponsibilities\nPromote safe work practices and comply with BW Gold Health, Safety and Environmental Programs and the BC Mines Act.\nLead surface water and groundwater management programs to support safe and efficient mine operations.\nLead the planning, design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of water management infrastructure.\nDevelop, maintain, calibrate, and validate the GoldSim water balance model.\nCollect, analyze, and interpret hydrological, hydrogeological, meteorological, operational, groundwater, and water quality data.\nPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare water balance forecasts, flood risk assessments, and operational planning recommendations.\nPrepare and review civil and hydrotechnical designs for diversion channels, drainage ditches, culverts, ponds, reservoirs, stormwater conveyance systems, erosion and sediment control measures, spillways, outlet works, and related infrastructure.\nPrepare and review mechanical designs and equipment selection for pumps, pipelines, valves, flow meters, and water treatment equipment.\nPrepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.\nProvide engineering support during the construction, field inspections, commissioning, quality assurance, contractor coordination and management, and progress reporting for water infrastructure projects.\nCoordinate hydrometric, groundwater, meteorological, and water quality monitoring programs.\nParticipate in bathymetric surveys, drone surveys, flow measurements, and storage assessments.\nConduct inspections in accordance with OMS Manuals.\nDevelop scopes of work, RFQs, procurement documentation, and coordinate consultants.\nSupport permitting, regulatory reporting, and environmental compliance.\nMaintain engineering records and complete routine technical reports.\nCollaborate with Operations, Environment, Maintenance, Technical Services, and Capital Projects.\nMay be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.\nQualifications\nRegistered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada and eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).\nA bachelor’s degree in Water resources, Civil, Environmental, Mining Engineering, or related discipline.\nA master’s degree in water resources engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline is considered an asset.\n3-5 years of relevant experience in mining, industrial, or water management, including mine water management, water balance modelling, and water treatment systems.\nExperience in hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, water treatment, and mine water management.\nExperience with GoldSim, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, Power BI, Python, Deswik, Muk3D or similar software.\nStrong analytical, communication, project management, and organizational skills.\nValid Class 5 Driver's Licence.\nPreferred Skills\nProficiency with engineering and modelling software.\nFamiliarity with dam safety principles and Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) requirements.\nStrong project management, communication, technical writing, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.\nDemonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nBenefits\nPaid Time Off\nRRSP Matching\nExtended Health, Dental & Vision Care\nDisability Insurance\nLife Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program\nCognitive Behavioural Therapy Programs \nWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, religion, national origin, status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or domestic/civil partnership status, or any other basis protected by law.
