This role is crucial to our operations, involving travel to various client sites to provide expert support for a wide range of chiller systems. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, technically proficient, customer-focused, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPreventative Maintenance (PPM):Conduct routine preventative maintenance on diverse chiller systems, including air-cooled, water-cooled, absorption, and adiabatic chillers, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.\nFault Diagnosis & Repair:Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults efficiently and accurately, performing effective repairs on components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, control systems, pumps, and pipework.\nF-Gas Management:Carry out F-Gas leak detection, recovery, and recharging in strict compliance with current F-Gas regulations and environmental standards.\nSystem Optimisation:Proactively identify opportunities for system optimization and efficiency improvements, advising clients on best practices and potential upgrades.\nClient Interaction:Liaise professionally and directly with clients, providing clear explanations of work carried out, identifying any further required works, and building strong working relationships.\nDocumentation & Reporting:Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, expense submissions, and other administrative tasks promptly and efficiently, utilizing mobile technology.\nHealth & Safety:Adhere strictly to all company and site-specific health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements.\nOn-Call Rota:Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota for emergency breakdowns as required which is currently every 14 weeks.\nTechnical Support:Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or apprentices when appropriate.\nRequired Qualifications & Experience:\nEducation:Relevant vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, City & Guilds 2079, or equivalent).\nF-Gas Certification:Current F-Gas Category 1 certification (essential).\nExperience:Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience as a Chiller Engineer or similar field-based role, with a strong track record of working on various commercial and industrial chiller manufacturers.\nDriving Licence:Full, clean UK Driving Licence (essential).\nTechnical Knowledge:Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, electrical control systems, and HVAC principles.\nDiagnostic Skills:Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to diagnose faults.\nSafety:A solid understanding of health and safety legislation pertinent to the role (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, confined spaces, working at height).\nDesirable Qualifications & Skills:\n17th/18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.\nIOSH or NEBOSH safety qualifications.\nCSCS Card, IPAF, PASMA certification.\nExperience with building management systems (BMS) and controls.\nFamiliarity with absorption chillers.\nSkills & Attributes:\nExceptional problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional client-facing approach.\nAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize workload.\nHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.\nProactive, adaptable, and a safety-conscious approach to all
