This position will teach 3 classes starting immediately and extending through mid-December, with the possibility of additional classes in the second semester.\nSchedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. with additional department meetings on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m.\nCompensation:$500 per week per section ($1,500 per week for teaching 3 classes)\nBenefits: Enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch in our dining hall and receive free tickets to all school performances and shows; join our wonderful community!\nResponsibilities Include:\nTeach three (3) sections in the Math department including one (1) section of Math 2 and two (2) sections of Financial Literacy;\n\nUtilize best practices in teaching within this academic discipline; implement existing curriculum and lessons and modify as needed for each learner using established school practices; teach, lead, and guide students and promote an open and safe classroom space;\n\nAttend weekly meetings on Tuesday afternoons;\n\nFoster a skills-centered, student-centered learning environment;\n\nUtilize technology and other educational tools to support student learning;\n\nMaintain student records including grades, comments, attendance, and progress reports, etc. using appropriate systems;\n\nCommunicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.\n\nCollaboration & Community Engagement:\nAs appropriate and in consultation with your supervisor, attend and participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, team-building exercises, and trainings, etc.;\n\nWork collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to foster a positive working and educational environment that supports the School’s mission, vision, and core values; and\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications:\n2+ years teaching or equivalent experience; experience working with high school students a plus;\n\nBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree recommended;\n\nWide repertoire of teaching skills that suits a variety of learning styles;\n\nComfort with technology and willingness to adopt new technologies as needed;\n\nInnovative teaching practices and a focus on student-centered learning;\n\nStrong collaboration and team-oriented working and leadership skills;\n\nPossess cultural competence in working with diverse populations; demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive community;\n\nShare an educational and artistic vision that aligns with the core principles of Walnut Hill; and\n\nAbility to balance a pursuit of academic, artistic, and institutional excellence with compassion and nurture for each individual.\n\nTo Apply:Submit resume and cover letter through the Walnut Hill School for the Arts online Career Center.\nNote: All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of state and federal background checks.
