Additionally, there may be an opportunity to choreograph one production during the school year. In addition to academic and/or professional training, we also seek individuals who have had experience as performers. This is a part-time leave coverage position starting immediately and potentially continuing for the duration of the first semester (through December). The duration will be determined as the semester progresses.\nCompensation:$565.00 per week\nTeaching & Department Duties\nTeach the assigned number of beginning through advanced courses in dance and movement; Classes meet Mondays & Wednesdays (2 classes per day); Tuesdays & Thursdays (1 class per day);\n\nPrepare lessons and develop curriculum that reflects the diverse educational and cultural backgrounds of the student body; teach, lead, and guide students and promote an open and safe classroom space;\n\nCollaborate with other members of the Theater department;\n\nAttend weekly department meetings; and\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements:\nBFA in Musical Theater/Dance or equivalent experience required;\n\n3+ years of experience teaching and choreographing musical theater dance styles;\n\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience teaching and choreographing a wide range of dance and musical theater styles, with versatility across different genres, traditions, and performance contexts.\n\nDemonstrated commitment to fostering a safe, brave, and inclusive community;\n\nPossess cultural competence in working with diverse populations and commitment to learning about and practicing anti-racist work;\n\nComfort with technology and willingness to adopt new technologies as needed;\n\nExcellent written and oral communication skills along with strong collaboration and team-oriented working and leadership skills;\n\nShare an educational and artistic vision that aligns with the core principles and values of Walnut Hill; and\n\nAbility to balance a pursuit of academic, artistic, and institutional excellence with compassion and nurture for each individual.\n\nAbout us:\nWalnut Hill School for the Arts, located in Natick, Massachusetts and 20 minutes from Boston, is an independent boarding and day high school offering a transformational educational experience designed for student artists in grades 9-post graduate.
