This Role\nThe role is responsible for planning, forecasting, coordinating and monitoring the availabilities of materials, spare parts, consumables and other inventory required to support safe and efficient mining and processing operations.\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Materials PlanningDevelop and maintain materials and inventory plans based on operational requirements, maintenance plans, production schedules and historical consumption.\nReview material requirements and determine appropriate reorder levels, minimum/maximum stock levels and safety-stock requirements.\nTranslate maintenance and operational requirements into material requirements and replenishment plans.\nIdentify critical materials and ensure adequate availability to support continuous operations.\nMonitor lead times and incorporate supplier delivery performance into planning activities.\nReview and update Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters in the ERP system\nInventory Management\nMonitor inventory levels, stock movements and consumption trends.\nIdentify slow-moving, non-moving, excess and obsolete inventory.\nRecommend actions to reduce excess and obsolete stock.\nMonitor stock-outs and investigate the causes and corrective actions.\nEnsure critical spares are appropriately classified and stocked.\nSupport periodic stock counts and reconciliation of physical inventory against system records.\nMaintain accurate inventory data, including stock levels, reorder points, lead times and planning parameters.\nMaintenance & Operations Support\nWork closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Processing, Mining, Technical Services and other operational departments to understand upcoming material requirements.\nReview preventive and corrective maintenance plans and identify associated material requirements.\nParticipate in shutdown/turnaround planning to ensure materials are available before scheduled work.\nSupport the planning of major equipment maintenance, component replacements and capital projects.\nEscalate potential material shortages that could affect production or maintenance schedules\nProcurement Coordination\nGenerate and/or recommend purchase requisitions based on approved material requirements.\nCoordinate with Procurement to ensure purchase orders are raised and delivered within required lead times.\nFollow up on outstanding purchase orders and supplier commitments.\nMonitor supplier delivery performance and highlight delays that may affect operations.\nWork with Procurement to identify alternative sources or equivalent materials where appropriate.\nEnsure procurement activities are aligned with approved budgets and company procedures.\nERP / Data Management\nMaintain accurate material master and planning data in the ERP system.\nReview and correct inaccurate or incomplete material information.\nMonitor system-generated purchase requisitions and replenishment recommendations.\nEnsure proper coding, descriptions, units of measure and planning parameters for materials.\nProduce materials planning and inventory reports from the ERP system.\nPerform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.\n\n Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies\nMinimum of HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electricals) from a recognized tertiary institution.\nMinimum of 3 years' experience in mining, mineral processing, power generation, or heavy industry, with demonstrated experience managing shutdowns.\nInspecting Engineer Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission is desirable.\nExcellent knowledge in Maintenance Planning.\nShutdown planning skill and experience highly regarded.\nKnowledge of a standard work management system.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel.\nExcellent leadership, management, and technical skills relevant to the effective provision of maintenance services.\nAbility to work in multi-cultural environment and respect other people values and
