The role ensures that mechanical works are executed safely, in accordance with engineering standards and within the approved budget and schedule.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview mechanical drawings, vendor data and equipment selections for SIB projects, and raise technical queries as required.\n Provide mechanical engineering input during project scoping and budgeting to support workable, cost-effective solutions.\n Supervise contractor installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical equipment on site.\nCoordinate with maintenance and operations teams on plant tie-ins, shutdowns and equipment handover.\nReview contractor method statements and lifting plans and resolve technical queries arising on site.\nSupport the QA/QC Engineer with mechanical inspections and close out punch-list items prior to handover.\nMaintain up-to-date technical documentation, including drawings, manuals and spare parts lists, for handover to operations.\nProven experience in drafting of mechanical works to supplement in-house civil, electrical and other related design works.\nProvide technical input into contractor and vendor evaluations for mechanical scopes of work.\nPerform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor or authorized delegate.\nEducation, Work Experience & Key Competencies \nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.\n A minimum of 5 years' experience ideally including exposure to a gold processing plant or comparable mineral processing environment.\nSound knowledge of rotating and static equipment, piping systems and structural steelwork.\nDemonstrated experience supervising contractors on an active construction site.\nRegistration with the Ghana Institution of Engineers or eligibility for registration is an added advantage\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nStrong technical and practical engineering judgement.\n Ability to make sound decisions under the time pressure of shutdowns and commissioning activities.\nEffective coordination with contractors, operations and maintenance personnel.\nGood understanding of the cost and schedule implications of technical decisions.\nCapabilities of mechanical drafting with AUTOCAD and other MS Office applications.\nComfortable working across both design review and hands-on site supervision.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3861,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T13:12:08Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:4","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-26T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/asante-gold-project-mechanical-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/asante-gold-project-mechanical-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-27T00:09:48Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":95,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4905,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-28T00:00:00Z"}}}
