The role develops and implements reliability strategies that maximize equipment availability, improve maintenance effectiveness, reduce total cost of ownership and support the safe and sustainable achievement of production targets.\nKey Responsibilities\nReliability Leadership\nLead the site's Reliability Engineering function for both fixed and mobile assets.\nDevelop and execute asset reliability improvement programs aligned with business objectives.\nDrive a culture of proactive maintenance and defect elimination across the operation.\nEstablish reliability standards, procedures, and best practices across all operational areas.\nReliability Analysis and Performance Management\nAnalyze fleet performance data to identify failure trends and reliability risks.\nOptimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.\nSupport fleet replacement and life-cycle planning decisions.\nImprove Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduce unplanned downtime.\nDevelop and optimize maintenance strategies for fixed plant assets\nAnalyze equipment performance trends and identify reliability improvement opportunities.\nEnsure critical equipment achieves targeted availability and utilization levels.\nSupport shutdown planning and execution activities through reliability reviews and risk assessments\nMaintenance Strategy Optimization\nDevelop and review maintenance tactics using:\nReliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)\nFailure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)\nFailure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)\nRisk Based Maintenance (RBM)\n\nOptimize preventive maintenance intervals.\nDevelop predictive maintenance frameworks.\nReview OEM maintenance recommendations and adapt them to site operating conditions.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining asset integrity\nEducation, Work Experience & Key Competencies\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance related discipline from a recognized institution.\nMinimum of 5 years' experience in a Process Plant as a Mechanical Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, Reliability Engineer, preferably within the mining industry.\nA Sectional Engineer’s Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission Certificate is desirable.\nProfessional Certification in Maintenance Planning and Reliability such as CMRP, CRE is preferable.\nProficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (Pronto / JD Edwards / SAP / Oracle / Ellipse, etc.), asset management principles, and technical knowledge of machinery.\nKnowledge in Continuous Improvement or Business Improvements\nKnowledge in the use of condition-based techniques like: Ultrasound, Thermography, Vibrations, Oil Analysis etc.\nExcellent understanding of mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, tanks, and tailings infrastructure.\nAbility to develop high-quality work packs with safety controls, drawings, and methods.\nStrong communication, organisation, and stakeholder-management skills.\nStrong shutdown management experience.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nStrong knowledge of condition monitoring methods, including vibration analysis and thermography.\nSolid understanding of reliability-centred maintenance and equipment design principles.\nAnalytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills to support decision-making.\nRoot cause analysis\nFailure mode and effect analysis\nMaintenance downtime analysis using MTBF and MTTR\nAbility to work in multi-cultural environment and respect other people values and
