Aristotle Space & Aeronautics Team (ASAT) is the aerospace student team of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where student members design, build and fly unmanned aircraft and rockets. Founded in November 2015 as the first aerospace student team of the university, it works through two technical departments, Aeronautics and Rocketry, alongside a marketing group, and has ranked among the top ten European student teams in both fields at international competitions. Its open member positions cover propulsion, avionics hardware and software, structures, aerodynamics, recovery systems, trajectory analysis, IT administration, graphic design and fundraising.

As an Avionics Telecommunications Engineer you will have the opportunity to design the rocket’s/groundstations’ telemetry systems and antennas. You will also conduct Electromagnetic Analyses/Simulations for the telemetry systems used.

Project Sky dancer,

Project Jörmungandr,

Project Air-brakes,

All of the rocket projects currently running

Responsibilities:

Transmitter/Receiver Modules selection

Antenna Design

Electromagnetic Analysis

Telecommunication Protocols’ selection and compliance

Software Defined Radio programming

Learned Skills:

Electromagnetic Field understanding

Antenna Design basic knowledge

Basic electronics knowledge

C/C++

Python

Familiarity with Embedded Systems

HAM license

Experience with electromagnetic analysis software

Ability to provide practical and reliable solutions
