We have an opportunity for you!\nSummary\n\nThe Machinist creates and designs machine parts by analyzing specifications, metal stock, setting-up and operating machine tools, and fit and assemble parts, and repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and miscellaneous components using appropriate Tool Room equipment to complete the job in the most efficient manner.\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyzes work orders, blueprints, sketches, models, and/or descriptions to visualize shape of a part or tool and determine material required\nInputs dimensions, plan layout, and determines assembly method of sequence of operation\nResponsible for heat treating all parts\nCuts, shapes, and trims prototypes to specified length or shape by using appropriate Tool Room equipment\nLayout stock for machining\nSets up and operates machine tools such as milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications\nInspects and verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances\nResponsible for setting up and running water jets\nExamines current or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part\nDevelops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product\nPromote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
