Diagnoses mechanical issues, performs preventive maintenance, and documents work completed. Follows safety procedures and collaborates with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.\nMaintenance Mechanic - Day Shift\nThe Maintenance Mechanic works on a variety of equipment throughout the plant. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and overhauling mechanical equipment.\nSchedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Overtime may be required. Carrying a company-provided phone may also be required.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nPerform assigned work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard in support of plant operations and the maintenance plan.\nTroubleshoot and repair equipment using a systematic approach, standard procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.\nWork with Operations Coordinators, Lead Craftsmen, Planners, and Maintenance FLLs to identify and address opportunities to improve work execution and equipment reliability.\nSupport site safety, including developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and instructing others in the proper use of tools and equipment.\nUse SAP to enter notifications, create work orders, document job history, and reserve materials.\nFor shift craftsman assignments, update the Priority Orders system daily with field findings.\nDemonstrate initiative and a positive, service-focused attitude while maintaining critical plant equipment.\n\nREPORTS TO\nMaintenance Supervisor\n\nTEAM\n\nMaintenance Supervisor\nCraftsmen\nOperations Coordinators\n\nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED\n\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nKnowledge of safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.\nAbility to work effectively with maintenance and operations personnel.\nAbility to read and interpret prints and drawings.\nKnowledge of fasteners, gaskets, flanges, piping, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, blowers, and other rotating equipment.\n\nDESIRED CERTIFICATION\n\nNCCER Millwright - Certification Plus\n\nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE DESIRED\n\nKnowledge of plant mechanical equipment.\nExperience with reverse-dial or laser coupling alignment.\nFundamental knowledge of vibration, rotor balancing, and lubrication.\nExperience with centrifugal, vertical turbine, and positive displacement pumps.\nAbility to maintain drive components to achieve proper speed, torque, and direction.\nKnowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC).\nComputer skills, including SAP maintenance software, web-based data entry, and other applications.\nAt Ascend Performance Materials, we value transparency and fairness in our hiring process.
