The result: a group of businesses, each an industry leader within their own discipline, now acting as one truly integrated supply base. \n\nSummary of Position\nRequired to inspect and adjust fabricated metal structures to meet required tolerances, fix and grind if required, assist in fitting & fabricating structures to customer required models and drawings, rig structures for CNC machining.\n\nEssential Functions\nThis document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position. \nFits and tacks metal components to fabricate metal structures according to a CAD model.\nInspects & validates metal structures with a laser tracker to ensure proper amount of stock for CNC machining.\nEstablishes reference system of complex metal structures for setup on a CNC machine.\nTroubleshoot fabrication issues and Identify repair plans for metal structures that do not meet dimensional requirements.\nMay review shop engineering drawings and models to assess and troubleshoot fabrication issues.\nRepair metal structures by grinding, plasma cutting and saw cutting in accordance with quality and safety standards. Use hydraulic jacks, hammers, and clamps to bend structures into place.\nBuild & setup fixtures used for repairing structures.\nMeasure & grind metal framework using a laser tracker to fit into tolerance.\nOperates a forklift and crane in accordance with safety standards.\nMaintains work area, tools, and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.\nUnderstanding of workplace health and safety procedures\nInspect fabricated components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met\nMaintain accurate production and quality documentation\nParticipate and take responsibility for 5S.\nPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.\n\nRequired Skills, Education & Experience\nAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:\n5 yrs Experience with metalworking and metal fabrication preferred.\nUnderstanding of metallurgy and heat treatment techniques and processes.\n Prior experience desirable with operating a laser tracker.\n Good mathematical aptitude and good judgment skills.\n Has at least 3 years of verifiable relevant work experience in industrial manufacturing.\n Experience with large material handling using forklifts & overhead cranes.\n Must possess proven and demonstrated mechanical skills, as well as good working knowledge and experience of machine processes.\nThis position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nRead/communicate with coworkers and leads.\nKnowledge of GD&T, shop math, and blueprint reading.\nLaser tracker experience (alignment, data collection, best fit).\nSome knowledge of common manufacturing processes including cutting, fabrication, machining, and assembly.\nForklift and crane operating skills.\nProblem solving – the individual identifies and reports problems in a timely manner.\nInterpersonal Skills – the individual remains open to ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.\nOral communication – the individual speaks clearly.\nQuality Control – the individual demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality.\nAdaptability – the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.\nDependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.\nSafety and security – the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY\nNone\n\nTravel\nMay be required to travel to other site locations during the workday.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nWorking conditions described here are representative of those that may be experienced by an employee on a daily basis while performing the functions of this job.\nTypically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation\nMay access and work in the manufacturing plant\nWhile performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles\nThe employee may be exposed to vibration\nThe employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
